Very ignorant comment. Aircrafts are not bought like groundnut. The contract must have been committed to and payment made long before Covid-19 outbreak just few weeks ago. Also, this is the 4th aircraft acquired under same contract like the first 3. You cannot just wake up and cancel such long term contracts. If you do, you incur serious financial losses. The story says the aircraft was ready for delivery just before the pandemic hit, they can't leave it parked in Canada else they will incur huge parking fees in foreign currency, so the governor did an excellent job to secure Special dispensation from Aviation minister to fly the plane into Nigeria during this period of flight restriction. Please let's learn to understand underlying facts before we make emotional comments. GreatResearcher1: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Get your facts right before you post. Akwa Ibom has over 10 Ventilators in a world class isolation centre at Ibom speciality hospital. And there are several other centres across the state. GreatResearcher1: |

Give a Man a fish, you will have to give him the fish forever, teach a man how to fish, he will fishfor himself. You see, the Airbus will boost the economy of the state, employ more people and by then, more people will be employed. Think again GreatResearcher1: |

Hmmm, there is oil even in Calaba Itu, how much more Oron. Eken, Oron, Esit Eket, Una Eket, Uruan, Ikot Abasi, Calabar Itu, and the list goes on and on.. so many local government there has crude oil Please verify before arguing. Am not sure if the oil is being explored in Oron, but I've heardof shell at Ikot Abasi, however, if the user says so, you go do your findings. Cakephp: |

Raypawer:In your delusional mind. Where is shell RA or well located in Ikot Abasi? Where are the oil wells located in all those LGA you mentioned? You should be the one to go do findings and stop being delusional. |

ubcandid:Lol se se iwang. Obong owo, ado ata iwang. I'm a top class chemical engineer, I have researched and published several papers along the oil line. Oil wells in Oron only exist in your imaginations you visited in your dreams. Only one local government produces oil in akwa Ibom, the local government beside Eket. |

Cakephp:you're definitely a disgrace to engineering with that comment of yours. Your copy and paste papers? Is that what you're talking about? even an economist can publish along the oil line. Your quotient is weak. |

Cakephp:so ibeno is the only L.G producing oil in Akwa Ibom? Is that your answer? |
Re: Ibom Air Acquires New Aircraft, Fleet Number Increases To 4 by Nobody: 9:55am On May 07, 2020 |
ubcandid:Which other local government is producing? Which local government has physical oil facilities both onshore and offshore installed? I'm not supposed to argue with you dummy sha, I'm only doing this for the benefit of thousands of people viewing this thread for clarity |

Cakephp:you're such an idiot. You're no chemical engineer because I was even preparing for a technical argument with you. No engineer who studied geology in secondary school, let alone undertook studies on permeability, viscosity, porocity and all fluid properties in the University would be petty in analysis. I would use a primary school wisdom to answer you because your quotient is so low. Akwa-Ibom won oil wells from Cross River state and lost to Rivers state, by your blind submission, Ibeono is the only L.G with an oil well. Thus, on that note, does Ibeono share land and sea boundary with both Rivers and Cross-River state? |

After reading some comments, I've realise that some people are so ignorant of the future. Oil price is going down and govt is diversifying from crude oil to aviation which generates huge income and people are here condemning govt effort, calling it a misplaced priority. Wait until monthly allocation falls below avenge and you'll see states owing salaries without tangible development then you'll now knw the impact of this development. For those claiming that the state is poor, last time I check the statistics of poverty in the country, Akwa ibom wasn't topping the chat. For those claiming that govt should've canell the agreement they signed last year, after the first 3 planes has been delivered, clap for yourself, you deserve an award. Congratulations to the govt and the people of Akwa ibom state, State governors in Akwa ibom, Ebonyi, Rivers are doing well infrastructurally. 1 Like |
