Afternoon everyone, I have been a silent reader and thumbs up to everyone for providing guidance and assistance to people like us. I and my friend began this PR journey and while I will be assessing with AITSL that seems straightforward, she is a University lecturer assessing with VETASSESS. She just submitted her application for priority processing but was however rejected for fast track due to her having a Phd qualification which needs to be properly verified Education Qualifications BSc (Tier 2) – 2008 MSC – 2010 Phd - 2016 Work experience University Tutor – 2010 -2013 University Lecturer -2013 till date We are considering telling the assessor not to assess the Phd so as not to delay the outcome and probably save on years of experience because reading through the thread shows VETASSES not to be predictable with approved employment duration. Is this step advisable, considering the state (NSW) she is targeting requires 5years employment and an assessment of both qualification and employmenta you are claiming points is required before applying? Please advise @bellong @tunlex01 and everyone, she needs to reply soon. Thank you. |

omoluabiade:The choice is yours. Whatever you decide, just remember these things: 1. time waits for no one in the theory of migration, especially with this unprecedented Covid19 pandemic and its effect on Australia migration statistics 2. there are thousands of people ready and waiting to launch a nomination application in July when the new year starts. Ask people who missed out in July last year their experience. Best of luck mate. |

water4: best shot --- Canada. For Australia, I don't see any occupation you can nominate. Perhaps your spouse can nominate ICT Customer Support and not a teacher if she's able to get the required documentation for TRA assessment. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 12:55pm On May 04, 2020 |
Abiscoco:Send them email not to assess the Phd. She shouldn't have submitted the Phd in the first place. She should still be able to claim the Phd even without assessing it with Vetassess. If she's not comfortable with that, it's best she loses the 5 point from Phd and get it from the experience. That will help her NSW 491 nomination if it opens. 2 Likes |

Guys, please i need expert advice on my 491 subclass skill assessment predicament below; I am a sales manger, I am interested in immigrating through the 491 subclass, the assessment agency for my skill which is IML National seems to indicate on their site and on the assessment application form , that assessment will only be for senior sales and marketing manger with at least 8 to 10 years continuous work history is required for assessment. I have just 6 years continuous work history. I would like expert advice on this....Thanks |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 2:04am On May 05, 2020 |
MadeInTokyo:You can't assess as a Sales manager if you are not a senior manager directly reporting to your MD while meeting other criteria set by the assessing body. Check the occupation list to check out other occupations you can assess. The last time I checked, it's AIM not IML National |

bellong: Ohh... thanks sir... The thing is that.. I'm planning to go to Australia by 2022..ie my final year... I'm currently saving my money and I intend to learn a new skill in IT maybe software development and plumbing because I heard law can't Grant u PR there I'm just confused as to how to migrate especially due to the fact that I might not have up to the 3yrs and above experience needed for the 189 visa 1 Like |

Please am new to this group and I know nothing about Australia PR. I will be 31 by July, am married, am a medical doctor and I have up to 3 years experience working as a doctor. I have written General Ielts with scores LRWS-7.5,8.5,7,7. I filled in the eligibility for visa 189 and am getting 70 points. Please I got an info from a telegram group that I can assess my skill under a health related skilled occupation as going through Australian Medical Board would require me writing AMC. Please house, which health related occupations can I assess my skill under and how do I go about it? |

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 2:33pm On May 10, 2020 |
Etinosa1234: What are you studying? Learning IT may not improve your chance except you get a quslification in the IT or plumbing. Qualification is an important requirement for the process. 189 is not the only subclass available. Have you read the thread? |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 2:35pm On May 10, 2020 |
Ekemezie1989: Why not write PLAB for the UK and practise there for at least a year and then consider relocation to Australia. It will be easier that way. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 2:37pm On May 10, 2020 |
sandysilver: There is definite response to your question. It may or may not depending on your course of study and state of study. And of course, migration policy is dynamic. |

Good morning house. Hope we are all staying safe. Please has anyone gotten ITA this month? |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 9:33am On May 11, 2020 |
Etinosa1234: Not to burst your bubble....you will still need verifiable 3 years experience post-qualification to assess as a Plumber or any TRA course. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Etinosa1234: 11:23am On May 11, 2020 |
tunlex01: Is it all subclasses(489,189,190) that need experience? I also found out that being fluent in designated language like Spanish, French also gives points..so what if i get 65-75 points without experience, am I Still eligible? I ran a mock assessment test on visa bureau.. mainly on probability of what I hope to get in two years time..(I wan leave this country so I want the legal way) No vex say I dey stress u boss..

Goodday all, please am in the process of submitting my 491 visa, i have work with 4 employers and 2 of them didnt remit any tax or pension but i have bank statement and payslip to prove salary payment, the other 2 i have their bank statement, payslip, tax cert and pension, during my assessment these were the document i sent to TRA. At this visa stage, i was told that they dont recognize bank statement and payslip, was told tax or pension is the priority to prove previous emloyment. Please how true is this. @bellong please i need you input and anybody that can help out, so i can upload my documents ASAP. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 3:03pm On May 13, 2020 |
myomega: The bank statement will serve as a third party evidence which will be enough in addition to other employment documents. You will be fine. |

Hey Guyz, Please can the Gurus examine my profile and see if I have a chance of getting a positive assessment with VETASSESS? And also can I get some advice on the best visa category to apply for. I intend being the principal applicant due to my age compared to that of my spouse. My nominated occupation is Financial investment Adviser because the job roles are closely related to what I have been doing in the bank for years but I am worried about my degree which is not related to my job. Also do you advice my spouse goes for skill assessment with ACS to see if we can get more points or just stick with his IELTS for more points? Age 37 Occupation: Investment Banker and have been working since 2009. have worked as an Executive assistant 1 year, HR rep 1 year, retail sales consultant/Business development manager 8 years, Relationship manager 1 year and present BSc Law. PGC Business Administration IELTS: LSRW - 7.5,8,8,7 Spouse: Age 41 Occupation: Network Adminstrator BSc Computer Science, MSc Computer science work experience after qualification, 3 years work experience before qualification 7 years. IELTS: LSRW- 7.5,7,7,7.5. Thank you guyz and appreciate your inputs |

tunlex01: Please what does Australia mean by *Pro rata Occupation*? |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 6:49am On May 14, 2020 |
@corjay, Both of you can still be primary applicant. You can both submit EOI and whoever gets the invitation first becomes the principal applicant. That being said, have you checked the conditions for nomination from Victoria or New South Wales? Other option is customer service manager for your occupation. Your husband can go through the RPL route (recognition of prior learning) for ACS assessment. |
