silvamania: Mail the university and tell them it won’t be possible cause of the pandemic. They’ll understand or look for a mid ground. |

dommakavelli: This is the situation. My birth certificate and Passport has Nwanze, Kelechi Emeka. This name is the same with all my academic credentials but my shares certificate has Nwanze, Kelechi Kobi. "Kobi" is my third name which is not included in any other document except on my shares documentation. I hope you understand now? My question is does the alias apply to me? |

Hi Yang, your question caught my attention and I would like to contribute and motivate you. You see, getting a supervisor is a very demanding hustle. But in the end, it is always worth it. I was in your shoes of searching for a supervisor, to be honest, I spent more than 6months sending proposals, write up, and all, but no, it didn't work out. But you know why it didn't work out? Because I haven't find a school that was meant for me. And when I found what is mine, the process was very simple and easy. I exchanged a conversation with the Prof and I sealed his interest the same day. I thought I was dreaming! My advice for you is simple, keep trying, keep keeping up, be hopeful and trust the process. Take note of this very vital stuffs when reaching out to your potential supervisor. No generic emails Read their interest, read their publications, get some information about their current projects and what their current students are working on. Look for a supervisor that is currently searching for students, you will find this information on their personal webpage Try to have customize your first message, very important. Attach your RESUME and transcript. If you have a very strong background in a course that is related to the supervisors area of interest, mention it, boost about it. Most importantly, find a supervisor whose interest fits well with yours. If you have any publications, talk about it, and make sure you have an online directory for your papers.. Good luck. [/quote] Hi I followed these steps from the previous thread and they were really helpful but I haven't been successful either. I'm applying for either a masters or PhD in construction related fields but the schools are limited. Concordia and University of Alberta are the likely institutions but I haven't gotten response. Instead it's the colleges that have such courses. Please what do you advise. I was denied that year for applying for a PGDc having a masters in construction management already. Please guys any suggestions. 1 Like 3 Shares |

Ivygive: Considering that your proposed course is being offered in limited schools, that means there will be very limited professors available and more fewer willing to take students. Now what should you do? If you want it so badly, you need to do something really unique. You gotta stand out in result, research, packaging, and of course, in GRACE! Firstly do you meet the minimum requirements of these schools? Do you have a direct interest in the research scope of some of the professors? Assuming you met the above, now begin to do things differently. Connect with the potential profs on research network, such as Google scholars, researchgate and others. Build connection by commenting and appraising their publications. I recommend you read, critique, and give a future-oriented summary of their publications. And finally, express your interest in working on similar areas. You may just be lucky! 1 Like 1 Share |

Yes, I understand now. In this case, I believe you will include Kobi in the Alias part. So this is what to do, click yes to unlock section 2, Leave Family name blank and just write Kobi in given name box. Tstunt: |

Hello Juddytee. I understand you had a valid Canadian visa before your study permit was approved? My questions are: 1.) Was your valid Canadian Visa issued to the expiration of your passport? 2.) When your study permit was approved, were your issued with a new temporal resident Visa (trv) with coding S-1? 3.) My study permit was approved and they did not request for my passport. When I emailed them they told me I do not need another Visa on my passport since I already had a visitor visa. Please help me clarify I want to be sure I am fine to travel by September. Thank you. @juddytee juddytee: |

Hello everyone, I hope we're all staying safe. Please I'm new here and I need some help. 1. Okay, so I got admitted with full scholarship and the only thing I have to cater for is my living expenses. Is it better to use just my mum's POF (showing 8m) or use hers and my sisters who stays in the US (even though my mum's own can cover all of my living expenses)? 2. My mum is an entrepreneur of a small business. If I'll be using her as a sponsor, should I should the certificate of her company's registration even though there are no tax returns? Also, asides from her bank statement and the letter of sponsorship, will I need to upload her passport, travel history etc? 3. Can I use the scanned copy of my sponsors bank statement instead of using the e ticket as has been suggested here? 4. Can I used an unregistered deed of gift transferred to me by my father as personal asset? 5. Secondly, I am 25 years and I have been working to gain experience at a firm since August last year. I managed to get an appointment and study leave letter from the firm to attach to my application. As such, will it look fishy that my bank statement won't be provided even though my sponsors POF will be able to cover my expenses? Thank you. I will appreciate a prompt response cause I will like to submit by Monday at most as my sponsors already printed out thier statements. Thank you! |

https://www.nairaland.com/5233221/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/573#87379136 @Qudkom @JustMellow @Stevenssen Thank you all for your response on my previous comment. I could not respond cause I realized thread 16 was locked. @Stevenssen I was asking because there were informations that I did not state in the documents I used for my school's application (which I'm stating in my Visa application). I was just confirming to avoid contradictions. |
