Orji Kalu: EFCC SET FOR FRESH, IMMEDIATE RE-TRIAL

The attention of the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been drawn to the judgment of the Supreme Court nullifying the trial of a former governor of Abia State, Orji Kalu , his firm, Slok Nigeria Limited and Jones Udeogu, a former Director of Finance and Account of Abia State Government and ordering their fresh trial at the lower court.

The apex court based its verdict on the grounds that Justice Mohammed Idris, who convicted Kalu and others had been elevated to the Court of Appeal before the judgment and returned to the lower court to deliver the judgment which it considered as illegal.

The EFCC considers the judgment of the apex court as quite unfortunate . It is a technical ambush against the trial of the former governor. The Commission is prepared for a fresh and immediate trial of the case because its evidences against Kalu and others are overwhelming.

The corruption charges against Kalu still subsist because the Supreme Court did not acquit him of them. The entire prosecutorial machinery of the EFCC would be launched in a fresh trial where justice is bound to be served in due course.

I do not see EFCC having it again against Orji.

Orji, his legal team must have explore the loopholes and learnt from their mistake in the previous trial.

This time won't be an easy ride

The same Mike Ozekhome many prefer to call a corrupt PDP lawyer, is one of the senior lawyers to OUK on this case.

Lesson: leave this people and hustle, their only loyalty is to the cash.

Settle out-of-court, permanently kill the case.

EFCC doesn't know that the time now is different from when Orji Uzo Kalu was abandoned by his ppl as a sellout to d caliphate. The main driving force that was d game changer was Nnamdi Kanu"s thunderous voice few days ago that Orji Uzo Kalu and Olisa Metuh must be released immediately until such a time they are ready to fight corruption not based on ethnic coloration. Orji Uzor kalu begged and begged, join ruling party, campaigned for Buhari, insulted his own people yet he got maximum sentence, with more trail loading, Olisah metuhh also collected paltry 400m from Dasuki, Dasuki is free in his house, while Metuh is in prison

and with this last statement, Kalu would remain in prison while his lawyer starts another fresh trail, choping his remaining money left and right.... Poor Guy

This country is a joke. The judiciary has reduced itself to zero, always give conflicting judgement. Orji Uzo Kalu wrecked Abia. If he escapes this that means T.A orji and his son too will escape it. God will surely punish those two criminals
