Actually, the judge has the power to sentence him. The ACJA empowers the elevated judge to sit on this part heard criminal matter. Thus, a high court judge that has been elevated to Appeal court can conclude on cases he was already handling as a judge of the high court.

The court didn't exonerate him, they just nullified the sentence because the judge who passed it was not permitted to operate at the Federal High Court - in which the judgement was delivered. the case is still active, but has to be presided over by another eligible justice.

Exactly! Besides the retrial will take like forever to even conclude. This is freedom in disguise

The IPOB has been a menace to Nigerian government. They have to be nipped in the bud. The owners of Nigeria may want to give the presidency to the igbos.
