The federal government said on Thursday that its policy on self-isolation, which prescribes that people should stay at home for certain time to authenticate their COVID-19 status has failed, saying this was the reason quarantining was made compulsory for all those coming into Nigeria. Thank God they are admitting it. What they would have done was to isolate everyone coming from abroad before the virus entered, but No. They believed Nigerians are Civil enough to self isolate all because they were trying to skip out of housing and feeding them for 14 days. Ndi ara! The money thta we would have spent providing accomodations for persons coming in from Abroad for compulsory quarantine would have been lesser than the amount we have lost now fighting the virus that has spread across communities. Close the airports in time, you were forming you have thermometers in the airports to check for high temperatures, now this. 7 Likes |

Tetrahedron: And PDP is what? Thier is no way self isolation won't fail, most people dont even believe thier is corona virus at this particular time, how did u expect most Nigerians that come back home for the purpose of oppressing their neighbours and flaunting their new found life abroad to just come and stay in a room for 14 days all in the name of corona. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

As rightly said up there, the self isolation directive was designed to fail from the beginning because it did not take into cognisance the undisciplined nature of the human species where impunity is the demonstration of how rugged or powerful people think they are. So many powerful idiots thought themselves to be untouchable and above the law. Even when they came from countries designated as hotspots for the virus, they still mingled with the populace thereby bringing us to this state of quagmire. 4 Likes |

When we were shouting it here on Nairaland that they should use compulsory isolation, they were busy telling returnee carriers of Coronavirus to go home and self isolate. Now, this one that dresses like a retired masquerade is talking rubbish. Who doesn't know that the stupid policy was doomed to fail from the start. A country of more than 200M people, you want those coming in to self isolate. When Nigeria is not one of these small countries. 5 Likes 1 Share |
