Ujeinijobog: (1) Your mom's SOA is more than enough. You should attach yours as well. (2) Yes include her CAC documents even though she has no tax returns. I did same when I applied. If you don't have it, you don't have it. Include scanned copies of her International passport, any travel stamps on the passport as well. Include birth certificate to show relationship as well. (3) Yes you can use scanned copies (4) My opinion, if it is land, it should be registered. That is what confirms full transfer of ownership to you. However, I do not know if IRCC actually confirms if it is registered or not. I think some people have actually used unregistered ones before and got approved. (5) Please attach your SOA as well. 1 Like |

How much is your tuition? then add the cost of living to it. Does your scholarship cover the total? More so, I've been hearing people talking about balance on their account. VO is not as interested in your balance as much as the cash flow and source of income. The questions you should be asking are: What is the total cash flow for debit and credit? What is the source of income? How much does the person make monthly? !.2m is just about 4000 CAD, which might be a little small but I think you should focus on the above first. Adwoa816: 2 Likes |

I think this is true. When people get approved for a study permit. The sticker on your passport is a TRV just so you can enter Canada. It is not a study permit. You will use your letter to receive the study permit at the point of entry. So yes, you don't need another sticker cos you already have one. BoBo83: 1 Like |

Adwoa816:Yes you can. Does the $17250 cover your tuition and living expenses? If yes, then tell the vo you have funding from school to cover your tuition fee and living expenses, that the extra 1.2mil in your personal account is for your flight and other miscellaneous. In the place of funds, fill scholarship 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Naijaforeigner: 6:21pm On May 08, 2020 |
BoBo83: Yes you actually don't need another visa to travel since you still have a valid visa to travel out of Nigeria to Canada. Your study permit will be issued to you at POE. The study permit you will be given will be for the entire duration of studies plus extra months. Just make sure your visitor visa does not expire before you travel out of Nigeria. The visa they give students outside Canada is simply to travel in and out of Canada. The study permit is the document that contains the actual work permit and it is the document that allows you to study in Canada. That study permit is only issued at POE and it is a separate document. It is not going to be on your passport. When you get to Canada, you can then extend your visa till the expiry date on your study permit. Just so you know, your visitor visa can expire in Canada but your study permit must not. Any time you want to leave Canada to any country (except USA) and your visa has expired, you simply just extend your visa and CIC will give you a new one till the expiry date on your study permit or passport. 4 Likes |

[quote author=BoBo83 post=89322443]Hello Juddytee. I understand you had a valid Canadian visa before your study permit was approved? My questions are: 1.) Was your valid Canadian Visa issued to the expiration of your passport? 2.) When your study permit was approved, were your issued with a new temporal resident Visa (trv) with coding S-1? 3.) My study permit was approved and they did not request for my passport. When I emailed them they told me I do not need another Visa on my passport since I already had a visitor visa. Please help me clarify I want to be sure I am fine to travel by September. Thank you. @juddytee Hi, sorry for the late response. Was busy 1. Yes, but will expire next month June. IRCC requested for a new passport because as at the time my application was at Nairobi it was already 4 months to expiration because I did paper route. 2. Yes. The new passport I submitted was written S-1 3. Did you get the letter of introduction from IRCC. If yes I think is OK. But I'm not too sure anyway 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Obehi44: 7:55pm On May 08, 2020 |
Chalva: Are you sure it’s a BVL? Because sometimes they send that notification(without any letter) again just in case you haven’t seen the first or so I think. So in other to be sure of what was sent to you, kindly check your account to see if there is another letter attached or in your email. But to your question, YES it’s normal. It means you will hear from them sooner than later. |

Chimzy4real:VISA is just for traveling into a country. It does not determine how long you'll stay there |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chimzy4real: 8:30pm On May 08, 2020 |
Ohhh ok...that depends on the type of visa. Is that not where overstay comes in? I am open to corrections Stevenssen: 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Naijaforeigner: 9:03pm On May 08, 2020 |
Phatkayconcept: Don't be sorry for asking questions bro. That's all lies. Many international students travel back to their country once they are done with their program. On completion of your program, PGWP application takes 3 -4 months. So many students spend that time in their country to chill and then come back to Canada close to when their PGWP will be ready and it has no -ve effect on your PR. The most important thing is for your visa to be valid upon return to Canada. While having your programs, you are also allowed to travel. I travelled to USA last year and yes I will be in Nigeria towards the end of the year when it is very safe to travel. Lots of international students go to USA for summer/spring breaks. However, don't leave Canada to Nigeria while still a student except you have a very good reason. Those immigration officials at POE will ask you funny questions when returning. 1 Like |

Chimzy4real: You will understand better when you come in. Visa is for traveling in and outside Canada. Chimzy4real: Yeah, type of visa and being inside Canada is different. The most important document you need as a student inside Canada is your study permit. Once your study permit is valid, you have nothing to worry about. Your study permit must not expire before you either renew it or switch to another visa type, usually PGWP, while in Canada. |

Naijaforeigner: Thank you so much for your response @Naijaforeigner. It's really helpful! But please, I don't have enough cash in my account. I used most of the money in my account for schools applications (I applied to 10 schools in different jurisdictions). As such, will it still be a good idea to attach my SOA even though I don't really have money in my account? 1 Like |
