Interesting

I dont think its possible to request that someone is retained in d cell for as long as you want.
If that were possible, cells would be so congested.

Unless you'be filed a case, and d accused is awaiting arrainment, suspects are charged within 24 hrs or 48, cant remember

@shewrites you might wanna look into that.
You don't know how far ds book would go, consider the worth of your audience

I will... but I have heard of people held up in the police cells for weeks, in the name of investigations.

Is this not Nigeria again?
*shrugs*

No, trust me, I would have done worse than Praise. I'll stay with her till she heals physically, then take a well deserved one month separation... Whatever happens after that, happens. She brought it on herself, karma or no karma

Before people come for me, my lady won't even agree I chat with my ex, you should have seen her demeanor when I tried going into a legit business with one.

@SheWrite, really nice story. More impressive is the fact you didn't bring the twist at the initial stage until everyone felt comfortable, then *booooom*

*hugs*

This might sound absurd, but trust me, she didn't protest the guy and his friends' own cos she enjoyed it unconsciously, while she protested her colleagues' own cos she didn't and it disgusted her.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm...

The issue is, since she doesn't know how to say No and stand by her words, how are you sure the next person that tries won't have his way also? Will her husband have to employ a full time bodyguard for her?

I've met ladies who claim they don't know how to keep saying No once the guy is persistent, so we might classify Ego as one of such

There are Egos everywhere... a desire to say no, when you mean no, but your body is in limbo...

Am beginning to loss interest in the story due to the consistent rape from when she was single till the 2nd to last episode

I feel you...

It is unsettling.

But, the fact remains that these are the routines of many ladies out there...

These nightmarish incidents are their norms.

MARRIED AND SLAYING: DIARY OF MRS. NWAKAEGO ETADAFE

Episode 27

Dear Diary,

10th May, 2019.

My clients made me to resume work fully this week. My knee still aches a bit, but, I can walk around now. But no high heeled shoes for now. It's flats shoes all the way, for now.

Praise has finally opened a branch of the bakery on the island. And I am beginning to think we might have more patronage there than here in the mainland.

When I am good and ready, I will also open a branch of Ego's Kitchen on the island.
This evening, driving home from my business place, exactly three houses away from mine, I heard voices. Loud voices combined with the blast of horns from vehicles and the happy giggles from children playing in the comfort of their homes. Every voice I heard became noise. A disturbing noise that threatens to disrupt the peace I crave once I crawl into my house. I planned to shower, eat, watch a movie, write in my diary, then sleep.

Distinctly, I heard women screaming at one another. They were so loud, I could hear everything they were saying. I recognized one of their voices. It belonged to Kamsiyo, my neighbour. The one that had a salon on our street.

My heart missed a beat. I didn't know who she was exchanging words with. But I could feel the hurt in her voice. It had a tremor. A tremor filled with anger mixed with bitterness. I had a feeling she was probably quarrelling with her in-laws. Oh lord, I don't know why these people can't stay in their own homes. Abi dey swear for them?

I parked my car in my compound and hurried back to hers. Just by their gate, I saw Kamsiyo. She was surrounded by three women and I recognized them. It was her mother-in-law and two of her husband's sisters.

Oh diary. I can't even write the names that they were calling her. These people were just crazy. Probably demon possessed too. Why will a fellow woman bring another down? Then I saw Kamsiyo's husband, Arinze, standing by the front door, unwilling to interfere.

Ah! Diary. I was just pissed. What sort of man was this? Why won't he learn to defend his wife? Why chose his family over her?

Right before my eyes, Arinze's sisters pounced on Kamsiyo! Hey diary! Come and see wrestling march. Kamsiyo gave it back to them, fire for fire! The three of them fought and fought, scratching and pulling at one another, while Arinze's mum kept screaming.

Two against one was unfair, and I couldn't interfer. Least I get bitten by the mad dogs. But I wished Arinze would stop the fight. He just stood there looking, while his sisters tossed his wife left and right. All in the name of she hasn't borne a male child yet. Haba!

Like Hulk Horgan, Kamsiyo got her mojoo back and she began to deal with the miserable busy bodies. Their cries of pain made their mother to get involved and the punch meant for one of her girls landed on her face.

Come and see Arinze in stupid action. He left where he was standing and dragged his wife by her hair! One slap stopped her from fighting, the second slap knocked her down and the third left her on the floor, crying.

Arinze's mother and sisters left, satisfied that he would definitely finish what they started. I ran back to my compound and got the guard. He followed me back to Kamsiyo's place and stopped her husband from hitting her further.
I stayed with her for a while before returning to my own home. And I wonder, was her situation worse than mine? My husband was way different from Arinze. And if roles were switched, Praise would defend me against his family and the entire universe. That's how much he loved and valued me.

Oh diary... things are still somehow between Praise and I. My husband has not touched me since the day Kingsley came into our home. Every time I come close to him, he steps away. If I try to hug him, he turns a cold shoulder. If I try to sit next to him while we watch the television, he would move to another chair. This man doesn't allow our skins to touch at all. Now, I am feeling like a sort of deadly virus, some sort of plague. Can you imagine?

See, diary, I can't bear it anymore. I need my husband. I am beginning to feel like a time bomb that is due to explode any time soon. I am even contemplating drugging Praise's food and satisfying myself once he is semiconscious. At least, that way, he won't be able to run or push me away. He will end up giving in to his already heightened emotions. Abi?

Desperate times, desperate measures.

I can't wait for things to go back to the way they used to be. Will that day ever come? Ehn diary? Pray for me o.

Like Job, I am ready to wait till my change comes, but I am not a friend of longsuffering... impatience might get the better of me.

I just heard the horn of Praise's car.

Got to go diary.

Need to serve my husband his dinner. At least, he is still eating my food and I am grateful for that.

Talk to you later.

Ciao!

Nonsense and ingredient. Walahi, it can only happen in a story. Without any intention of being malicious, we should know that it's easier for a woman to forgive her man that commits adultery, than for a man to forgive his wife that does same.

Best Praise can do is to leave the house for maybe one month, use it to meditate and find out if he still wants her or not. If he decides to still be with her, then she should know that the pains may heal, but the scars will still remain

Pls, explain to me why women could forgive cheating men and men can't do the same. Are women perfect? Or it's fine if men cheats around and giving no damn about the women's feeling

Lol, I wish I knew the explanation for that, unfortunately, I don't. As much as it's not an excuse for randy living by men, what I said still remains the truth.

It is EASIER for a woman to forgive a cheating husband than for a man to do same.

If we go religious, she had done the cheating before the rape itself. Well, you are correct, but if stupidity is always used as an excuse, many of us will get away with a lot of things.

She saw it coming, had the opportunity to "stop it", but no, she led it into her matrimonial home
