Locke(2013)...7/10
Genre: Drama

Drama as a solo genre hasn't always been my forte. But this right here, swept me off my feet, with it's remarkable story telling. Am totally impressed so to speak.

Tom Hardy delivers a mesmerizing performance that keeps you glued to your screen. Hats off to the director of photography, who effective managed the repetitive camera setups.

If you don't enjoy slow paced movies were a single actor is the only & major cast, steer clear of this one.

Anyone seen the movie Tears of The Sun?

A 2003 movie based on a fiction story of a rescue mission in Nigeria for a doctor trapped in a civil war.

The movie had Bruce Willis as the main character but the black people used didn't look like Nigerians and the language was more of Senegalese, didn't hear any Igbo or Hausa all tru.

A fair movie though.

By the way, why does Bruce Willis always have that look in all his movies grin

Lol that movie was shite_ mekaprime can testify to how pissed I was by that movie after watching it.

I also complained about the language spoken, soundly more like Cameroonian than anything Nigerian. And a few characters given Nigerian names.

It wasn't even clearly about Nigerian civil war as I kinda saw elements of other military regimes aside the civil war era.

Bruce Willis acting was plastic-like, although he was obviously the best performer amongst everyone In the movie. That goes to tell you how BAD that film was.

Language spoken was Igbo. It just that it was poorly spoken, the white Rev father actually tried in speaking the language more than the black folks.
As an action flick, it was ok, as a biopics, it was horribly horrible.

Sincerely, the casting was poor, was it that in 2003 Nigeria didn't have good actors and actresses?

Let's not even talk about the early scenes that were adapted from the Liberian civil war and somehow was used for a Nigeria movie. Story was just too poor, as if there was an absence of Historians.

The writer didn't do any research on the Nigerian civil war, he just wrote what pleased him, the movie was really an insult to we Nigerians.

The US Soldiers breath life to it, those black guys looked lost. The Nigeria soldiers didn't look anything like what the Nigerian Army is. Seems more than half of the movie budget was given to Bruce Willis grin

I won't be surprised if none of the setting included a Nigerian location.

Deepwater Horizon(2016)....7.5/10
Genre:Action, Drama, History

A somewhat gripping emotional story, based on the BP oil rig that exploded and contaminated the Gulf of Mexico in 2015. Eleven men died instantly and 115 others rushed on to lifeboats.

In the course of 87 days Macondo wellhead, located around 5,000 feet beneath the ocean's surface, leaked over 130 million gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, making the spill the largest accidental ocean spill in history.

In July 2015, BP agreed to pay $18.7 billion in fines, the largest corporate settlement in United States history.

Great acting, all thanks to the impressive ensemble of cast, top notch visual effects with excellent soundtracks to go with. 107mins well spent.

Tell your joke elsewhere. It happened and that's fact.
DC also have storylines that were retconned out of main universe or into main continuity.

So saying it's an elseworld story is funny trying to trivialize what actually happened. The bone of contention was what happened and never about elseworld or otherwise. And the fact remains Thanus was defeated by a JOKE. grin you for tell me say na DC universe e happen na. Mtchew.

Better go and educate yourself before you continue spilling bias bullshit_. undecided
As I read the first few lines, I discovered I was either talking to a wall or to a kid trying desperately to win. So you know what kiddo? You win. Have a good one and bother mentioning me again cos I won't be replying.

In Al Pacino/Russel Crowe's The Insider, it was referenced that Big Tobacco shelled out $206 billion settlement to 46 states that participated in the class action lawsuit, to be payed annually for 25 years.

It piqued my interest, and I looked it up, and guess what, the settlement (is) the largest class action settlement in the history of the United States.

BP $20 billion settlement is a very distant second.

A colleague of mine overhyped this mobie so tey! grin

It's a good movie anyway but I think acrimony is better.

It's the largest settlement for a single entity/coy. My bad for not specifying that in the write up.

$206billion that's humongous. Well considering how Americans smoke cigarettes, the 4 biggest tobacco coys involved in the lawsuit would have recouped their losses.
