When someone speaks in tongues, no one understands a word he says, because he’s not speaking to people, but to God—he is speaking intimate mysteries in the Spirit. But when someone prophesies, he speaks to encourage people, to build them up, and to bring them comfort. The one who speaks in tongues advances his own spiritual progress, while the one who prophesies builds up the church. I would be delighted if you all spoke in tongues, but I desire even more that you impart prophetic revelation to others. Greater gain comes through the one who prophesies than the one who speaks in tongues, unless there is interpretation so that it builds up the entire church. My dear friends, what good is it if I come to you always speaking in tongues? But if I come with a clear revelation from God, or with insight, or with a prophecy, or with a clear teaching, I can enrich you. Similarly, if musical instruments, such as flutes or stringed instruments, are out of tune and don’t play the arrangement clearly, how will anyone recognize the melody? But I am like a foreigner if I don’t understand the language, and the speaker will be like a foreigner to me. And that’s what’s happening among you. You are so passionate about embracing the manifestations of the Holy Spirit! Now become even more passionate about the things that strengthen the entire church. So then, if you speak in a tongue, pray for the interpretation to be able to unfold the meaning of what you are saying. For if I am praying in a tongue, my spirit is engaged in prayer but I have no clear understanding of what is being said. So here’s what I’ve concluded. I will pray in the Spirit, but I will also pray with my mind engaged. I will sing rapturous praises in the Spirit, but I will also sing with my mind engaged. Otherwise, if you are praising God in your spirit, how could someone without the gift participate by adding his “amen” to your giving of thanks, since he doesn’t have a clue of what you’re saying? Your praise to God is admirable, but it does nothing to strengthen and build up others. I give thanks to God that I speak in tongues more than all of you, but in the church setting I would rather speak five words that can be understood than ten thousand exotic words in a tongue. That way I could have a role in teaching others.


Some even speak in tongues when preaching to the people.. Though I'm not saying speaking in tongues is not real... But der r ways of using it

Like some have rightly spoken, speaking in tongue is a very powerful tool. You need to thirst for it earnestly to receive the gift.

I was like you before. Didn't believe it was real, like how could one do it. So after i became a worker whenever we were asked as workers to pray in the spirit; I could not join. I became worried and began to thirst and pray at every Holy ghost service to receive the gift nothing. And I wasn't going yo pretend about it. So I kept praying.

Then one time, I went for a one on one deliverance session with an mfm prophet. He asked if I speak in tongues I said no. He asked if I was willing to receive the gift I said yes. So we started.

By the time this man was done with me ( hitting and boxing me) lol. He made me kneel down and ask me to release myself and start praying. few mins into the prayer ( he was moving around the auditorium praying) I felt a rush of wind and I began to speak but I stopped immediately cos I was somewhat ashamed of what I was saying but the man of God shouted continue! Let it flow.. Omor.... That was how I began o. This was in 2016. Since then, once I'm praying and it becomes so intense my tongue changes. So if you desire it, you'll receive. Its a very wonderful and refreshing experience.

see, by the time you keep meeting with a group of people who are speaking in tongues and you pray with them you will soon get used to the sound of the tongue as you keep listening to them, that will trigger you to speak in tongues using exactly the sound that you have heard that they are using, it is natural.

But if you don't gather with them nothing will trigger you to speak.

That was how i too learnt how to speak until one day, I read through the bible again only to discover that the whole thing they are doing is scam, there is nothing that will benefit you in that exercise.

I will advice you, go back to your bible and read from the horse mouth itself and leave these people before they corrupt you.

..confession that Jesus is the Christ is made into salvation (John 10:10)
..He that believed in him is not condemned (John 3:18)
..This is the work of God, that you believe in him(John 6:29).

To believe in him is what is necessary.
Your speaking in tongues or incantations during prayer can never be the evidence, the evidence is you, your faith in him(Hebrews 11:1)

You speaking in tongues or incantation isn't necessary, except you want to prophesy, even with the the prophesying it is still not necessary,
Just say the prophecy people will hear.
