iknowwhoiam:Fine. Thank goodness everybody doesn't hold the same opinion. And it's a good thing that it's not mandatory to vaccinate 100% of a given population to attain herd immunity. You should be grateful to Mr Gates for his work on the eradication of polio despite conspiracy theories and pervasive ignorance. |

iknowwhoiam:Covid is An infectious disease, highly contagious, mortality rate of about 5 percent. Has a potential of killing over 100 million people if it infects half of the world. It's a new disease, and those drugs you talked about are just being tried recently. We can't lock down economies for long. The seasonal western flu already has some vaccines. Seasonal vaccines as well, that protect for a few months. Malaria vaccines are being worked on. Covid is caused by viruses, malaria is caused by plasmodium, so I guess they might not have the Same ease of creating a vaccine. |

Pls don't waste your saliva and energy to waste for this looting government. If they wants to patronize your drugs in Nigeria there will be now way they can loot. They prefer to wait for who that will approve a drug that will be sold in dollars where they can loot and loot till the treasury is empty. Pls advertise your drug to other Africa countries, not here. Nigeria, I spit on you |

If it is from china the FG will grape it with both hands. Nigerians don't cherish what they produce rather they will appreciate the one from china that do not even like your people. |

iknowwhoiam: Note I used 'alleged'. There has been no documented evidence or peer-reviewed publication. It just empty claims. Even if the cure of 2 is to be believed, it's laughably low considering the fact over 60% of cases will resolve without treatment. It might interest you to know even the medical academy of the country criticised the president for being so irresponsible. Well, Thankfully common sense has come on board, and I understand the drink has been sent to South Africa for further PROPER analysis. Let's hope positive results come back. 1 Like |

Re: COVID-19 Cure: Iwu Says FG Yet To Show Interest In Their Drug by iknowwhoiam: 6:27pm On May 11, 2020 |
Tayeni: The issue is not infection rate, but mortality rate, Ebola, Malaria, have high mortality rate than COVID-19, yet there is no successful cure for either. There are many documented cases of people over 60 years who survived COVID-19. E.g. Prince Charles. The main thing just as you wrote 'Same for people who have underlying conditions or whose immunity is compromised." |

we promote outsiders more than our hardworking citizens. a country where we have many civil engineers still the government will go to China to look for engineers to construct bridges and road when we have capable hands here. i wont be surprised if the drug is not tested. they will prefer the Madagascar own to our own made cure. rubbish for my country oo las las naija go still dey. |

Trailblazer1:Things are not done like that again in this scientific world. Any drug or herbal mixture must go through verification and testing in order to compare the effectiveness and side effects. Unless you are still African traditional society . Though, Prof. Iwu should be commended for his discovery but the right thing must be done before the mixture will administered to patients |

iknowwhoiam:It's not easy to catch Ebola as it is to catch CoVid-19 which sort of makeup for the high mortality rate. Malaria has various effective cures both herbal and pills. The mortality of malaria has more to do with socioeconomic status of the affected population than the disease itself. Sure some people above 60 survive it. But those cases are sort of what they call outliers. Cos most people above 60 have diseases and health conditions that raise your chances of dying by covid. Keyword here is -mosg 1 Like |

ceejayluv: ceejayluv:This might not be correct. The mortality rate is around 1.3% ("https://time.com/5798168/coronavirus-mortality-rate/"), some may argue that it is below 1% ceejayluv:I agree that the flu has a vaccine, but is it effective? How many people dies in 2018 from the flu? - 80,000 people (https://edition.cnn.com/2018/09/26/health/flu-deaths-2017--2018-cdc-bn/index.html) |

Tayeni: Tayeni: Ebola is as contiguous as COVID-19 even not more ( you can be infect through body contact) Tayeni:This is a fallacy, It does not follow. Tayeni: Is other words COVID-19 mortality rate is as a result of the underlying causes. 1 Like |

iknowwhoiam:Always fact check if you are unsure of an opinion. That will save you alot of arguments. I repeat...covid-19 is almost twice as contagious as Ebola. Malaria is in my opinion a poverty disease. Why do you think charity organizations give out insecticide treated nets for free in most parts of sub Sahara Africa? A unit of those nets shouldn't cost more than 2000 naira on the market, yet most people can't afford it especially in rural populations. There is no video or article you want to share about Bill Gates that I'm not conversant with....negative or positive. We just believe what we believe. That's the beauty of belonging to the human race. Biological differences...differences in opinion etc. It's all good. |

iknowwhoiam:The bolded link is broken.. I'll like to view it. But anyway, I meant the case fatality rate. Which stands at almost seven percent globally now (in terms of confirmed cases). https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ As for the flu vaccine, the same link stated that only 49 percent of pregnant women received flu shots. Meaning that overall, not All of vulnerable people come forward for the vaccine. Besides, the flu vaccine,, as with most other vaccines is known not to be effective on the elderly. Seasonal flu has a case fatality rate of 0.1 percent. |

There is no harm in trial, if our government are not scammers, what will it cost them to test our own local covid19 drugs and see how it works, if it didn't work they check another source. But they can't because of the western world and their promises. Please the government should patronise our local researchers to encourage them to do more. |
