You are talking as a Nigerian fan. We would have liked him banging in goals. But his club side paid for his daily bread. So he did the job they required him to do. Discipline and versatility are part of professionalism. He had both. Opta (a games statistical group) analysed his passes many years ago after fans talked about his back-passing. It found that the vast majority of his passes were either sideways or forward. I cannot recall exact figures now. It silenced critics. Good teams have a decent ball possession, defend well and build their game from the back. Instead just hurling the ball forward anyhow. 5 Likes |
