[quote author=Diyke4rich post=89411662]Never make a mistake for your tenant to know you, for example i am 31 today since 5 years now i have been renting out my house my tennant does not knw me they keep calling me oga the fear of the unkown is much better. It's not a mistake per se, it's defending your possession. How do you take care of the property if you don't inspect it periodically. I've had several cases that were solved by me being vigilant, my tank almost fell on the roof and no tenant contacted me nor get it repaired, I've reported an abused tenant to the police, he will beat and choke his wife regularly, he broke part of the fence with his wife head, so tragic., got to know that one of my tenants was an armed robber, police came to inspect then found a regular trace of footsteps on the wall, checked the roof and found his gun, was arrested with his gang, they took all his properties n even share some with the onlookers, they were all gunned down ,many more I can't write here, now imagine if I'm not vigilant enough, what would have happened, especially in the case of the robber, I was a regular visitor to the police station then. You can't just rent out your house and fold arms. Being a young landlords isn't a crime but you just have to be bold, I can remember wearing native to inspect my house 15 yrs ago instead of my regular jeans, because the way you dress can command respect. Additionally, you have to be street and bookwise, my tenant of 13 yrs is a lawyer, he won't fumble cos he knows I'm a learned 10 Likes |

Please don't let us deviate from the purpose of this thread, which is basically about investment, growing our investments, protecting our investments, retirement planning through investments. I think there are threads for education, scholarship, immigration, career etc. Whatever plans we have, we should work hard at them, delay gratification, get more than enough education and knowledge about what the realization of the plans entail and look inwards to see if we have the resources to actualize those plans. 13 Likes |

Hello fellow investors, will it be wise to fix some funds with Opay for 30 days @ 14% p.a? Giving existing rates, the fact that Opay give out quick loans @4% monthly interest rate and our current economic realities. |

If you have a lucrative business ideas, we can work together but I cannot borrow you money to travel abroad cos for me, it's not an investment am sorry. 13 Likes |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by athorello(m): 2:40pm On May 11, 2020 |
Godbpraised: Opay is quite popular with their app that offers payment solutions, ORide, e-commerce, pay day loans, savings and fixed deposits accounts. My main reservation is that I feel many borrowers may default cos of our current realities although Opay is aggressive on recovery cos of use of BVN. |

Grupo: Agreed. I also thought about it and the following questions came up. 1. What if she gets there and refuses to pay up and the guarantors obviously can't pay? I have no time for endless litigations. 2. What if she actually starts paying and gets deported back to Nigeria? 3. God forbid, but what if she loses her life? Infact, this is why I never engage in these work place thrift where people pay money at the end of the month and take turns to collect. Someone who has collected may die before I collect mine. Her best bet is to source for the funds from people who personally know her or she remains here in Nigeria and hustle her way out. As bad as the country is, people are still schooling here and making it upon graduation. 17 Likes 1 Share |

These days, it is rare to see anyone that will engage in such investment let alone in a thread where people are looking to improve their o.5% Tb interest rate to 100 percent . I advice the person in demand to keep investing in him/herself. If Nigeria was an honest country, all that is required could've been generated within one month maximum. Do not lose hope, keep looking. If it was when I still had hope in humanity I would've personally helped, but I have paid my dues, I only help children. rationalmind: 3 Likes |

Phyde: Max Yield is denominated in Naira only The minimum account opening balance is N10,000 (Ten thousand Naira only) Minimum operating account balance of N2,000 (Two Thousand Naira only) Holders earn regular savings account interest rates with average daily deposit of less than N100,000 (One hundred thousand Naira only) Third party deposits and withdrawals by cheques into your Max Yield account (your cheque can only be cleared at Stanbic IBTC branches) Holders earn regular savings account interest rates plus 2% with average daily deposit of more than N100,000 (One hundred thousand Naira only) You get no interest when you make more than four withdrawals in a month 1 Like |

helpyom: Why don't you qualify here in Nigeria, work for sometime, save money, write exams that make you a prime candidate for your destination country and then you can migrate? Secondly, why don't you work for sometime here, save some money and consider migration to other countries with clear-cut migration programs? Thirdly, if you really want to go, you can suggest to your guarantors to sell or mortgage their landed properties to raise funds for you to go. When you work for sometime, you can refund them. Finally, you can approach members of your Town Union, Church, religious body or wealthy members of your community for support. 12 Likes 1 Share |

helpyom: Perhaps you should consider alternative countries. I think Canada should be cheaper than Australia?? Since you have a BSc, you are young and in the medical field your points will be high. Then when you get there you can work and apply for scholarship. Life is not fair. I understand how painful it is to know that finance is the only thing preventing you from achieving your dreams. E dey pain die. You will start having existential crisis. And in life unfortunately there is no free lunch even in Freetown. It is hard for people to help who they know not to talk of someone they don't know. But there is nothing God cannot do. He makes a way where there is no way. Just keep praying and believing and save and invest the little you can. God bless you and keep you. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

ahiboilandgas: Dear sir, Thank you so much for offering to help with the way you can, I was fortunate to apply for Canada visa sometime in 2017 a travel agent assisted and helped me package the statement of account of 25mil was refused based on travel history and finance I didn't pay tuition I just applied reasons why I had to create to create that thread. Now on the refusal letter the V.O specified I should re-apply and also state the reason for the program despite my work-experience. 1. In Australia I have so many job options for my discipline than Canada. 2.In Australia switching to my dream course program Is easier, there is no way I would get 2 year Graduate entry nurse in canada program with the influx of people trying to move there. 3. There are many job opportunities in Australia with my occupation that can get me PR, No way if I move and go to the 2 employers I lost their jobs cos I was offshore the won't consider giving me an offer. I solicited for a part fee which I would start paying 6months after my arrival,I lost 2 jobs that could get me PR cos I wasn't fortunate to be there back then, making this move won't be something anyone helping me, neither my loved one will regret. So sorry if bothered you sir just wanted to clarify I aappreciate your time. God bless you |
