Why Do Graduate Engineers Find It Hard To Get Jobs? by obonujoker(m): 7:34am On May 13, 2020
I'm posting this question on behalf of a friend who studied chemical engineering, and 3 years still looking for a befitting job for the profession

As far as I know, Engineering can be placed on the same scale as MBBS, however it never difficult for graduate medical students to quickly get placement.

Please what should be done or what's the cause?

1. Type of engineering course read

2. Lack of engineering industrial jobs

3. Association problem

4. Lack of skills

5. Grades

6. Master degree, certification etc

Please this my guy works as a sales booksman for a book company, and I don't think there's a difference with those working in primary schools.

Because course like Engineering put you in a specific hole which a very limited space is available in Nigeria.most of them find work in another sector like Banking e.t.c

Nigeria is not an industrialized nation so there can never be enough jobs for engineering graduates. The number of engineering graduates in Nigeria definitely surpasses the number companies.. lol

A way out is entrepreneurship on the part of the graduates and giving support (steady power, tax holiday, patronizing local coys etc.) to local industries on the part of the government.- This will reduce importation of goods that can be produced here which in turn leads to job creation.

I studied engineering myself and trust me, less that 10% of my set are practising it at the moment despite majority having 2nd degrees.
