I have this mini pc i plugged to phcn power yesterday, after plugging, I left home to buy something somewhere, I came back and check, I saw the charging indicator is off, I tried removing and reinserting the battery also plug the pc to direct power without the battery but nothing came up, I asked someone and he said nepa took light then brought it back....since then I've been trying to resurrect the pc and it's not working.
Ps: it worked fine before yesterday
Pls wats the possible cause and solutions

I believe the engr might have tried another screen or flex to see if it will work before concluding.

I have an engr in Ibadan, at challenge to be precise.
He is a chip level engr, from what you explained only a chip level engr can work on it properly.

When did it start? Is your keyboard working fine, did you notice if any key is malfunctioning?

Try and confirm if it works fine when you use adapter or battery, sometimes a not too good charger can cause the system to malfunction like mouse moving erratically.

NEPA don jam am.

I believe you must have tried the 30sec discharge trick, if you tried it and it still didn't work, I'll advise you to see a laptop technician.

But first try testing it with another charger and see, I'm suspecting a motherboard issue though.

Most 1gb ram mini laptops lags with any browser especially when multiple tabs are opened. If it is 1gb, upgrade to 2gb but if it is already 2gb, then reduce the no of apps on background.

The battery (after sale NOT OEM) should not be more than 6k.

OEM can be as high as 12/15k

Are you sure your charger is fine. If it has an indicator like led, check to see if it is on when plugged. Try with other charger. Same result implies a faulty motherboard due power surge

Does it hang only when you're browsing? If yes you might want to update your display adapter driver.

For the battery just budget #4-5k

no indicator, nothing. But the charger shocks me and when I insert it to the pc, the pc metal body begins to shock too

I've had an experience with a bad charger that still produces a shocking sensation with the front frame of an Elite book.

if what you're suggesting is that the charger is fine, you may be right but you must try another charger first to conclude that the laptop is indeed the problem. From your description, it's very less likely that a surge damaged the laptop's motherboard. usually, your power adaptor receives the surge unless you were using a faulty charger before this.

Due to my workload piling up, I needed a fix urgently so I already paid through my nose for another board.

In addition to the issues of the screen, the lappy was so hot when I took it to the engineer. He told me yesterday that the processor is faulty and that due to it being an onboard processor, the motherboard would be changed entirely.

Help needed urgently house!!!
I use a 2016 MacBook Pro. Updated it got the latest firmware 2 days ago overnight and noticed that the battery bar indicated that it was charging while it wasn't plugged in and the battery bar was dropping quite fast. I plugged it in and it was charging but would still show that charging might even with the charger removed.
I shut the lid hoping to restart it this morning and it's not coming on at all. I've plugged it and replugged...pressed shift + control + options + power button for 10 secs released it and press power key and nothing is coming on.
Please any help will be appreciated.

Well next time before doing an online update, check for reviews first.

Are you going back to Win 7 simply because of Win 10 data consumption? Interesting!

There are several ways of drastically reducing Win 10 data consumption and stopping the incessant updates completely. All you need do is ask someone and a bit of google searching would have helped.

Still, if your mind is made up on going back to the redundant win 7, then the best way is to do a dirty install (Custom Install without formating any partition. Simply install win 7 on the partition with win 10) using a prepared usb or bootable win 7 DVD.

Press the window key + R

Then type services.msc in the box and click enter.


Locate windows update and disable it.
Hopefully this will help.

These lines only appear after like 30 minutes use. But, when i shutdown the MacBook for 20 - 30 minutes, switch it back on, they disappear. only to reappear again after using for some time.

Did you perform any software update on it?

First of all reinstall the operating system, some mac are like that, if you reinstall it, the screen will go back to normal.

Again, it can also mean that the screen is getting bad but reinstall the operating system and check.

Please , I have one LG U46 Window 8 laptop that i left for about two years unused , though i dont exposed it to dust , i kept it in a bag throughout . The best thing to do is for you to take it to a laptop technician for diagnoses.

You kept it unused for about 2 years, a lot of things could have happened to it.
There are so many things that can cause not to come up.

Though you can hold down the power button for some time, to see if it will discharge some current and power on.

Is there any difference from formatting a hard drive and reseting a system back to factory settings.
