Lockdown is a waste of time. The only reason why the world adopted the lockdown approach was because it kind of actually worked for China. But the same world forgot that China is a communist state were your rights will be taken from you with or without your consent. Pray tell me; what has the lockdown achieved so far even in advance European countries aside from crippling their economies? Nothing. if lock down weren't imposed on Italy,France or Spain, their death toll would have been 4x.....Lock down helps flatten the curve after peaking.... They did massive testing during the lock down,it enabled contact tracing nd fishing out infected persons, since if u don't move, the virus doesn't move..... now they are easing lock down after months of sacrifice.

Germany got it under control, they eased lock down, new infections rose again.... Same with Ghana.

without lock down, the numbers u are seeing in naija now will be 3x this.

How rapid the virus spreads means a lot of people can contract it within a short period...without lock down to calm the speed of the spread, the whole country can get infected over a short period of time.

I followed America from the onset... if early lock down measures were taken, the fatalities wouldn't have been this much.....

lock down slowed its effects.... but the biggest fatalities nd infections occurred when governments eased lock down.

My argument here is lockdown isn't for us Africans most especially nigerians. The countries you guys are mentioning provided some sorts of palliatives to their citizens when they imposed the fascist lockdown approach on their citizens. Even at that, the lockdown didn't actually contained the virus in those countries. What contained the virus a little bit when was mass testing was carried out, the importance of social distancing was preached by their leaders and the use of face masks was enforce on the citizens. Go figure my bro.

I don't know but I just believe the media are the number proponents of this lockdown approach. Lol is like they are against anything that isn't lockdown.

We shouldn't always forget that what we think actually worked for Europeans will really work for us. The former cbn governor provided a nice African solution on how we can contain the virus the African way, but I believe the PTF on covid19 don't want to use his approach.

So our not having figures like Spain, Italy etc as a result of not too encouraging testing would prevent fatalities, whether one is tested to confirm his/her status or not, if you become infected by the virus, and not lucky, you will die, infact not getting tested is even more dangerous, by the time you start hearing of homogous number of deaths around your neighbourhood fear would grip you. So stop sounding like you gat better alternative to the lockdown, you don't know more than those that recommended it. If you like don't stay safe and personally responsible, you will learn the hard way.
