Both players are great dribblers but I’ll pick DeLima over Messi here. For one, a good number of times DeLima squares up against like 2,3 or 4 defenders alone with no teammates to distract them. That’s like a suicide mission in those days.

Most of Messi’s dribbles are done with his teammates moving into dangerous positions. This helps distract the opposition. Plus tackles aren’t flying everywhere.

This doesn’t take anything from Messi though. He’s a fantastic dribbler and a superior team player to R9. The other guy is massive as well.

You can play well without having a goal or assist or trophy to show for it. Messi in Argentine plays well although might not be upto his level with Barcelona but he does the basic things well too like passing and dribbling which you mentioned above.
