Teeboy15: He deleted it not bc of a lack of confidence but mostly of anger, which was justified. The problem with most of these travel threads is one person who has been in the US for all of 5 min is now expert on all US matters. Someone who has a different perspective, experience or other vantage point is wrong or in this case a clown. But for the record he was right. 1.There are scholarships and grants available by specific major, especially those where there is a growing need. 2. Scholarships based on merit, i.e. gpa. 3. Minority scholarships especially for women and/ or in areas like STEM. 4. Depending on your place of employment, they will pay for your education. 5. If you belong to certain organizations such as sororities/fraternities, or professional organizations for example accountants 6. Scholarships/grants based on need sometimes dependent on state, For instance if you are a single parent there are grants for them. BUT you have to be aware of deadlines to apply, some require you to write essays, others belong to an organization. The money is out there, but there are other applicants so perseverance and diligence are key. Awhile back there was a database that I frequented that listed in real time alot of scholarships available. Dont know it now. 8 Likes |

jamoyakz: It depends on what your goals are. Some folks make a career out of these jobs and make a decent living and are content with the relatively limited financial rewards. For some folks, being in the military is a lifelong dream so it's not necessarily just a stepping stone. I think you'd need to have a real passion to stay in these careers. One benefit of being active military or reserve is that they could pay up to 100% of your tuition to go college. A buddy of mine was earning about $60k per year including lots of overtime as a correctional officer in Illinois. He got burnt out, quit and went back to school. He now earns north of $160k working as an actuary after taking like 9 qualifying exams. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Leeindy: Lol. I have been here for almost a decade. You and I know the hurdles and attachments many of those scholarships come with and most times, Nigerians are unable to obtain them. How many Nigerian students can afford to be president of this department and that student body. How many Nigerian can afford to be this and that leadership this and that. If he is able to, that doesn't mean everyone can. And that's why I called him a clown. Even 10 years after entering US, many Nigerian are still trying to navigate the US terrain. I'm speaking about the average Nigerian in US and not the ones that are from rich homes or Yankee is their backyard. 5 Likes |

Leeindy: Easier said than done. Scholarships is just like lottery. Not everyone will win it, That is what you guys don't know. Most of those scholarships advertised online , you might be shocked about the ridiculously low number of people that it gets awarded to. So just like lottery only 0.000000000001% will win out of the thousands that will apply. So don't make it look like it's easy. Even with your perfect CGPA, it's not easy to get because there are hundreds of other people with that same CGPA that a also applying like you. So calm down sir. Even though what you are advising is good but op is just being realistic. 3 Likes 2 Shares |
All you need is on Google.com.
Google obviously. The remote jobs I see mainly require those based in the US. I've seen one lady who got a US remote job from naija but I can't find that thread. I was hoping you'll give me some tips on how to go about it. |

Goodday. I was notified that my application for a US Green card has been approved. The application was filled by my mother over 10 years ago. It just got approved in March 2020. I would like to ask what are my options. I am currently working as a project manager here in Nigeria, A general contractor. I had my first and second degree in the Philippines(Electronics Engineering Graduate and MBA). I would like to ask, what is the best way to survive in the US? |

pDudd:Its not true.Dont make wild speculations. He won Hilary by taking electoral votes of Wisconsin,Pennsylvania and Michigan by less than 100k votes.Today he has lost a lot of voters.Republican strongholds from Louisiana to Alabama,Arkansas etc have fallen to the Democrats since the 2018 congress elections.Trump does not represent any of the values America had been known for years and he is a threat to democracy ,which is the secret to American strength today.BTW Op You come out here to support a racist who doesn’t care about people like you while advising people to avoid avoid black Americans who paid with their blood for the civil rights you are enjoying today. You ran away from Nigeria because you couldn’t stay to join in the fight against the old men ruining your country ..you also went ahead and did nursing which is now the normal Nigerian bandwagon for people who lack any other ideas on how to explore opportunities in America and now see yourself as successful? Lol...so we now know why our Nigerian ‘Wisdom’ make us look pathetic in the eyes of right and open minded thinking people..smh 13 Likes 2 Shares |

flyingpig: That guy is right. It is best to do a survey by yourself and see what the healthcare field looks like in order to make a decision. Ask for pharmacy, I have a relative here who is in pharmacy school. Before he started the program, there was a career counselor who came to speak to them about the pharmaceutical industry in US. He said that future projections showed a decline in the lucrative aspect of pharmacy because it was gradually becoming automated. People won't need a pharmacist in the future to fill out prescription and all that stuff. They can just do that online and in a few hours or days, their prescription arrives at their doorstep. Pharmacy used to be a very high paying job but from what I was told, automation might slowly kill that industry. But please research this for yourself. Kaiser Permanente is one of the biggest healthcare delivery giants here and people subscribed to Kaiser can easily refill their meds online and have it delivered to their doorsteps. This process just started but it is already widespread now. 6 Likes |

You don't need to talk as if you know it all. I have gotten some scholarships home and abroad with less effort i may say but what i notice is that people stopped believing in their God's given potentials. I am not a good article writer but i do win scholarships even with those that require essay writing. What I do is just to associate myself with liked-minded dude and all the rest is easy. The fact that you never gotten several of those scholarships does not really mean that they are not accessible! Try to learn and unlearn alot in life. Many came to the same America on a full ride scholarship and have gotten better life better than that all this B1/B2 Visa and Akata things to get PAPERS. They complete their programs on Scholarship and the same green card many of the people in the state do all sort of things to get were granted to them by company with good wages package and many of those people in this category are not as smart as one can think but what makes the difference is the amount/type of information at their disposal. You don't need to talk as if you know it all! pDudd: 5 Likes 2 Shares |

I have always wondered what the point of a pharmacist was when every little thing still requires a doctor's prescription anyway. They are basically just like the other store clerks who get paid minimum wage. I don't use those either. I either order online or use a self-serve kiosk if I'm in a hurry. 3 Likes |
