This is development...

1. Access to electricity.
2. Quality of life for people in rural areas.
3. Favorable weather conditions.
4.overall HDI
5. Safety and security.
6. GDP per capita (nominal and PPP).
7. Internet access.
8. University research.
9. Manufacturing industry.
10. Diversified economy.

Analyze each of these factors and make a fair comparison between both country, you can even go ahead and add Kenya. let see which country perform better.


My reason for choosing health industry is simply because of its fair assessment. you only know a serious country by the amount of wealth she put in her health industry. health is akin to overall development.

HDI isn't the best method either.When you use HDI,per capita comes into equation. And per capita is just a fallacy! Oil money can be devided per number of people in a country to get per capita.But the truth is,most oil money and mining activities monies don't reach the pockets of ordinary folks.That's why Equatorial Guinea has higher per capita,but on the ground,most folks are just poor!

Per capita makes sense to economies which are more diversified, and depend much less on hydrocarbons and mining.

Access to electricity in TZ is 85% in 2020.Next year will reach 100%.

Internet access is just a rubbish! Its not a measure of development. Anyone can buy a mobile phone now days.There is no need to mention who has a phone or not.Many cheap phones around.

You can't say Ghana is diversified! Almost a half of your forex comes from gold,and gold which is extracted by foreigners. That's not diversification. TZ is more diversified since we don't have one sector contributing almost a half of foreign currency.

The reasonable stuff are like life expectancy. Everything we do leads at improving life.As long as you live less years,no one will take you serious. What is the use of having the better healthcare index,but u end up dying fast? What is the use of having a so called best university research but your researchers can't improve life?
