Usorohtheman:Their belief doesn't matter. Money is sweet. Having plenty of it makes life much sweeter. The churches they build, the functions they donate to.... Those will speak well of them in heaven. God is a family man. Usorohtheman:Because while you live on this Earth, government is God. Access to public funds is a lot of money; when the public is uneducated and miseducated, when they can't relate their horrible reality to your malfeasances, when God is a common excuse for everything good and bad, why would you bother investing in society for society's sake? Your close circle becomes your primary constituent. And that's really all you'd be bothered about. Usorohtheman:Masses, poor, suffering - what does that mean to the man who's sure of his meal for the next four years? They don't celebrate that the masses suffer; they just have no idea what that means. 1 Like |

This is indicative of the fact that, Nigerians do not really understand the substance of the religious faith. Being religious go beyond audio profession and eye service. |

dre11: Gradually we are accepting the reality of covid 19. Life must go on. All we need is to look for ways to cope. Total lockdown won't work in a Nigerian setting. Nigerians live below poverty line so it won't work. Religious places and work activities should resume with utmost precautions on the part of the individuals. Anyway, something must kill a man in Africa. 1 Like 1 Share |

Its still too early to open Mosques and Churches because Nigerians do have the discipline to obey social distancing rules; what happened at the banks and bus stops in Lagos on May 4th, the first day of lifting the lockdown, is still very fresh in our minds. Also, the rate of infection is still raising and so this is the time to be extra careful, not relax lockdown controls. |
Re: FG Frowns As States Reopen Mosques, Churches by Nobody: 10:57pm On May 15, 2020 |
dre11:Nigerians misunderstand the term "FAITH" WITHOUT WORK FAITH IS DEAD. WITHOUT MEASURES TO CURB THE PANDEMIC "FAITH ONLY" WOULD CAUSE MILLIONS TO DIE". Nigeria should not rush to ease the lockdown based on the fact that citizens do not obey social distancing rule and our health care system is not strong enough to tackle the pandemic should the cases rise via total lifting of the lockdown in a rush . Even diaspora football leagues would be played without football fans in the stands. 1 Like |

We had better learn how to live with this covid-19 virus by always taking adequate/absolute precaution by adhering or taking note of the necessary safety measures so as not to get infected with the virus. Because this nigga isn't going anytime soon at all. It has come to stay for a very long time. Lock down won't solve anything. It will only continue spoiling the economy of the country and making the citizens die out of hunger inplace of the so called virus. I don talk my own. |

senatordave1:In those states mentioned, how many churches are situated there? The correct statement should have been...Re-opening of mosques and it would have made sense. I am never against Islam. I am against the federal government's hypocrisy. They knew if they had said only mosques are reopened, people would react and they did so because of sallah. They will surely get the reward of their disobedience. In anambra and ebonyi you mentioned, dem don dey hear am now, with the increasing number of covid-19 cases recorded. Read the newspapers for details if in doubt. |
