Difference between Lesotho and SE (Alaigbo is more complicated, hence, my use of the Nigeria-created SE geo-POLITICAL region).

Lesotho lies more than 2000km from the Atlantic Ocean (when navigated through the Orange river); SE is less than 60km from the Atlantic Ocean (as stated by the writer).

If it doesn't make any sense to u, then this topic is obviously not for u.

You don't have beaches with white sand and you are not directly sitting in front of an ocean and the fact that you can paddle canoe from the SE to the Atlantic doesn't mean you are not landlocked.

Stop confusing yourselves with lies and deceptions.

They can maneuver their canoe from Nnewi river through many states to get to the Atlantic like Mungo Park.

grin No mind them. Show us coast in igboland was the question being asked. He starts writing about European nation. I don't know the correlation of that with the question. Shameless people.

There he goes..

I'm glad it's no longer, "what is the difference between Lesotho and SE (geo-POLITICAL) region?" at least, most of u must have learnt from my post u quoted.

As for the landlocked issue:
Yes, the SE (geo-POLITICAL) region is landlocked!
Yes, as an independent state, the SE would be an enclave of Nigeria!

But will an independent SE have access to the Atlantic? Certainly!

Boy, I would rather an independent SE (geo-POLITICAL) region, than present Nigeria; go figure!

You are still dodging my question.

How can SE have access to the Sea/Ocean without crossing Nigeria border?

You as an Easterner, if you are traveling by land to Benin republic, you must pass through SW same as SWesterners traveling to North must pass through SS states.

SE is landlocked .. Simple as ABC

With due respect, ur geography seems poor.
Ekiti state (in the SW) has common boundary with Kwara (in the NC); I'm surprised as to how a SWesterner would need to go thru the geo-POLITICAL SS, when traveling to the North.

As for ur question regarding how the SE can access the Atlantic Ocean without passing through Nigeria border:
Look at it this way; if they put u in a boat at the Onitsha-part of River Niger (which is an international water body), and that boat keeps moving southwards, within minutes, u would find ursef in the Atlantic Ocean.
No land separation, nothing!

Though the SE is truly landlocked; and would be an enclave of Nigeria if independent, but I would rather an independent landlocked SE than present Nigeria.

No amount of logic can change it
SE is land locked
It must negotiate with other ethnic group to get access to the sea
Relying on international law na audio something

According to the topic and the title of this thread, the SE is not landlocked, but thanks for at least admitting that the SE is landlocked, so, kindly correct the OP and the ignorant author.

Per access to the Atlantic, you are free to do whatever semantics and acrobatics you so desire with all that, just don't insult our intelligence that the SE is not landlocked.

There are 3 states with ocean fronts in the SW, Lagos, Ogun and Ondo states, they don't have to paddle canoe through other states to get to the Atlantic.

NPA, Ogun To Collaborate Over Olokola Deep Seaport

The management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Ogun State Government has agreed to collaborate to ensure the workability of the Olokola Deep Seaport project.

Receiving the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Mrs Noimot Oyedele-Salako and the state’s government team inclusive of their Technical Partners from Abu Dhabi Ports recently, Managing Director of the NPA, Hadiza Bala Usman called for greater cooperation among stakeholders while working towards actualising the Federal Government 25 years Port Master Plan.

The NPA and the Ogun State Government delegation both agreed that the synergy was important in order to develop Nigeria’s port system in tandem with global best practices.

Get your facts correct. The confluence of Obuaku and Imo river empties into the Atlantic, the same way BONNY river empty into the Atlantic.

Bonny river was dredge so that large vessel could pass through from the Atlantic into ONNE port. Now answer me is River landlocked the answer is NO!

Obuaku and Azumini (blue river) will need to be dredged to allow large vessels from the Atlantic to enter and berth at Obuaku or Azumini port.

Interesting the distance from ONNE port to Atlantic is 50 Nautical miles , while from Azumini to Atlantic is 25 Nautical miles.

Do not listen to propaganda.

Do you really think other states or countries go just sidon like mumu and let you paddle your canoe, dredge or let you do anything within their states or countries?

They are not dredging through other states to get to Onne port.

There's a difference between dredging within your own state or country and dredging from your own state or country through several states and other countries.

How delusional and naive can you people be...?

I am glad you have been cleared on the access to sea stuff. Very good.

Now your concern is hostility on our water ways. Don't worry it's not your headache.

If Biafra could not protect her right to access the Atlantic even with all the international laws and charter , we have no business being a sovereign nation!
