There are Yorubas but they are less than 5% of the population but grouped as Ishekiris.

Their communities are near the ocean and very remote (far away from big towns)

Those Yorubas gladly accept being recognized as Isekiris became they are too small to stand on their own.

And partly because they share similar language and orgin as the Ishekiris.
Even the ishekiris you're talking about are not more than 5% in Delta state and you're talking about Yoruba people cheesy

Nwanyiogwashi my point is proliferation of LGA's is not a yardstick for determining population. Kano Has more local government than Lagos but does that make it more populated than lagos? The southeast has 5 states as against the south south with 6. are the miniority tribes of Southsouth more populated than the igbos? For Your informations urhobo territories are not just limited to delta central, urhobos are in warri south also, even asfar as ofoni in bayelsa state. infact, the Deputy Governor Of bayelsa State is an urhoboman. So if you add warri south to the two isoko local government of delta state plus the urhobos in bayelsa, about 12 local goverment. The ediod urhobo-isoko people are the most dominant people inhabiting delta state with an extimated 3million people & we are the 5th largest ethnic group in southern nigeria after the yorubas, igbos, ijaws, ibibio-efik, u have the urhobo-isoko people.

Attached Is the voter strength of local governments in delta state which helps buttress my poin

Anioma has no City just deal with it. Even Anioma jewel (Agbor) cannot be compared to Ughelli. And please don't mention Ukwani I spent 3 years of my life there. Ogwash is just a village with a Polytechnic. Ogwash needed a "school" in other to be known. You cannot compare that village to Sapele. Outside Delta; how many people knows there is a place called Ogwash? But Sapele is well known Nation wide for her Timber, Rubber and definitely her Ogogoro!!!

Tell me the place in sapele that is more developed than ogwashi ukwu? What is in sapele?

Who made urhobo people the largest in Delta state? Or are you including isoko people as part of urhobo? Saying that urhobo are the largest in Delta state is like saying that ijaw people are the 4th largest in Nigeria grin this lies has been exposed many times in Delta state, which is the reason urhobo always attach with isoko people.Anioma beat urhobo in everything both in education, sports, influential both Nigeria and international, and development, people always think that warri belong to urhobo people
this is the reason why they say igbos like to brag.n. and that's what you're doing... urhobos are the largest in delta state.. I wont even argue it with you because you wont be able to give any proof other than boast of how you're good in sport education business whatever.. give me one proof which shows that anioma is larger than orhobo in delta state.. and I will show you 10 diff proof that oppose your claim..

the urhobos and ijaws are the major reason okowa is governor in delta state.. based on political ties to pdp.. aside that.. who knows anioma?? are you forgotten the capital of delta state was suppose to be ughelli before it was shifted to asaba.. like I said urhobos dont speak in one voice.. otherwise we wont be having people like you telling us trash here

Ha

Ishekiri are than 5% oh, They may not have huge land like the rest but have close to a million people in Delta state. Those that see themselves among them as pure Yorubas shouldn't be more than 100,000.

ughelli can't be compare to agbor is a disgrace angry ughelli is village Mr man sad is Asaba an urhobo land cheesy

At this point I realized this conversation isn't based on facts but on sentiments and opinions. And it is illogical to argue against anyone's opinion, because each is entitiled to own one no matter how baseless, illogical and unsensual it could be.

But as a matter of fact; you cannot bring Asaba into this context same reason you cannot bring Abuja into an argument of "North is more developed than West". Because Abuja is the capital and thus developed with the collective resources of the Nation, same as Asaba being developed with the collective resources of Delta.

From my observation as an outsider

Urhobo is by far the largest ethic group in Delta state

And I believe Anioma should follow

isoko should be third but historically Isoko are just Eastern Urhobo if I am not mistaken

Ijaw and Ishekiri should be similar in numbers

You know nothing about Delta state urhobo is the largest when you add isoko as part of urhobo or you add warri as part of urhobo, many people mistake warri as solely own by urhobo with that they add their population to urhobo.

isoko is urhobo.. you're mistaking language for ethnicity.. do a little bit of research on the isoko people.. and you'll see that isoko is just a language in urhobo... just like we have egba, ijebu in yoruba.. so a ijebu man is no longer a yoruba man, shey?? even the ijaws have over 5 diff spoken languages.. so that doesn't make them ijaw??
