Yes the virus is real but about 85% of the reported cases in Nigeria are fake.
My dear, I have said the one I know. I have two of my colleagues currently in isolation. Weather govt is playing games or not I don’t care, all I know is to be careful when dealing with people cause e no Dey show for face. Some people re carriers without them knowing.
But I don’t blame people saying it’s fake. If television stations can be asked to go give coverage at the isolation centers and blur the faces of patients probably people might have a change of mindset, just as BBC and CNN reports to the world about the virus

there is something real this people are not telling us and why sef
Because you would stop expecting any meaningful thing from them knowing fully well that 2020 budget has been Covided. And expecting your share from the billions of dollars made from foreign aids & local donations. grin
I stand to be proven wrong, Covid case in Nigeria isn't more than 20 and the casualties so far is also less than 5. Make them prove me wrong with statistics. Who died from it, exact area, gender, previous medical condition or symptoms, etc.
It is only those that don't visit hospitals before now that wouldn't know the numbers of people dying daily from treatable causes. Government simply buildup those figures under Covid. Since all eyes are now on health ministry.

U do realize that there are asymptotic patients right? And just because it’s contagious doesn’t mean u have to get it, some pples immune system does wonders! Please be informed
Nairalandmonika:

Did u read what she wrote, he mother bathed her and slept on the same bed with her. Coronavirus is highly contagious, there's no way her mother could not have contracted the virus if she (the girl) actually has it.

Oga a contact that bathed and slept on the same bed, there's no way such person will not contract the virus.

A woman in her late 60s for that matter.

And yes it is possible she did not contract the virus from her daughter, and at the same time, it is very likely her mother did contract the virus, but her daughter has deliberately witheld that information.

I'll say it is likely the mother had the virus if mama was with her in the isolation unit.

Patients sometimes lie. I didn't think it was that possible when I started my career, but after over ten years of being in the business...

Covid 19 is a huge hoax perpetuated so we can all be forced to take 'mandatory' vaccines bill gates and his cronies are gonna roll out in a few months time grin

Please, and please, don't spread such untruths...

Covid-19 is very real, and very much in Nigeria... However, it's obvious our leaders have done a very poor job of testing, detection, isolation, and overall containment....

Everything being shown on the media is all a mix of truths, fabrications, and misinformation... This is all geared towards shielding themselves from any fallout of the poor approach they adopted from the beginning.

They have been fortunate, and largely spared by good immune health of most of their population... Trust me, if most of us were as susceptible as Europeans to this virus, the health disaster in this nation would have been historical!!! I'm talking deaths in hundreds of thousands!!!

It is real just that some states are capitalising on it to loot the treasury.

Take what happened in Akwa ibom state for example.

See it does not follow. There are those who have high level natural immunity. Do you know that there are those who have contact with HIV carriers but never got it. Do you know that there are those who have HIV virus but never develop AIDS.

U can't compare hiv to coronavirus in terms of infection. Coronavirus is highly infectious. In recent times I don't think there's any disease as infectious as coronavirus.
Secondly her mother is almost 70 yrs old, the asymptomatic patients of coronavirus are mainly children and young adults.
It's wrong to use HIV statistics for covid 19. Doesn't make sense at all, both virus are world apart in terms of how they infect people.

Really, so patients can now tell if they have a disease or not?

The test says she is positive, she asserted she is negative.
What a covidiot!
which test? Did you read at all? She said they didn't show her the result, they just told her that she was positive.

Ps: I'm not among people who claim covid19 is not real but I'm among those who claim the number of the positive cases is being inflated intentionally for the reason best known to our politicians.

The lady was also in isolation, isolation is real, the disease is real but some are using disease to scam and loot money. Being in isolation on Nigeria doesn't mean you have it. This health worker can pay for some people to claim covid 19 to siphon money with the help of state government. I remember Bello of Kogi saying he couldn't lockdown his people in exchange for money.
Already we know how our political system in Nigeria is that doesn’t mean one should conclude it’s a scam. So pls I will continue to say one had to be careful

This patient is crazy where did she do her test to know she was negative then? NIGERIAN are playing with fire. They think is play. I work here as Gesundheit und Krankheit Pfleger here in Deutschland (Germany). We had a patient brought in from Altenheim (old people home) to our Krankhaus (hospital) only to find out he was positive after some days. Which led to the shutdown of our station and testing of all workers and patients that have any thing to do with this ward. I was tested but I was only called on the phone that my result is negative same applied to all workers nobody saw any test result.. In fact at a point I was tod they may not call due to high number of test being carried out so if I do not receive any call its negative but positive they will definitely call. So how does she know the status of her result that it's negative when she did not see it?

Covid-19 is not a scam.

What they are doing in Nigeria is a big scam.

There is one major symptom all Covid-19 patients have and it has not been given a single mention in Nigeria. There and then is when I smell scam.

What’s the symptom sir ?

Hmm

1. The woman is most likely in denial

2. As has been seen time and again, not every contact with a covid case tests positive

3. Even if they showed her the paper work around her test she won't believe it.

4. Many cases are asymptomatic. El rufai and atiku's son are two classic examples, and there are cases that have tested positive for longer than that.

5. The reason for denying that she is positive? A) avoiding stigma b) she feels upset that she was placed in isolation.

My opinion.
You are the only one making sense here
