See Take Home Pay Of A Professor After IPPIS

These people have made up their minds to completely destroy the public university system.

Is this what a professors takes home in the universities that their own children do attend?

342k per month (less than $1,000) after about 20 years in service, and so many promotions.

This is just the end of the public university in Nigeria.

Note: 4th column says "gross", and gross means total including all allowances.

ikorodureporta:

What Is IPPIS And Why Is ASUU Resisting It?
Academic Staff Union of Universities have engaged in fierce war of words over the government’s decision to make universities embrace the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System.

President Muhammadu Buhari had, during the 2020 budget presentation at the National Assembly on October 8, ordered that all public sector workers must register for the IPPIS to save cost and fight corruption by blocking leakages in the Federal Government’s salary payment structure.

But ASUU had, last week, opposed the President’s directive, saying the IPPIS negated the law of university autonomy.

Here’s what you need to know about the IPPIS and ASUU’s reasons for resisting it.

The IPPIS

• IPPIS Secretariat is a Department under the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation

• It is responsible for payment of salaries and wages directly to government employee’s bank account with appropriate deductions and remittances of third party payments.

• Such third party payments include the Federal Inland Revenue Service, State Boards of Internal Revenue, National Health Insurance Scheme, National Housing Fund, Pension Fund Administrator, Cooperative Societies, Trade Unions Dues, Association Dues and Bank Loans.

• IPPIS claims that its main aim is to pay accurately and on time within statutory and contractual regulations.

• There are 459 Ministries, Departments and Agencies on IPPIS Platform as at 31st June, 2017.

• The department is responsible for processing and payment of salary to over 300,000 Federal Government Employees across the 459 MDAs.

• IPPIS aim is to enrol into the platform, all Federal Government MDAs that draws personnel cost fund from the Consolidated Revenue Fund.

• Since inception of the IPPIS project in April 2007, the department has saved the Federal Government of Nigeria billions of Naira by eliminating thousands of ghost workers.

What ASUU says about the IPPIS

• It violates existing laws and autonomy of the university

• It is World Bank-designed exploitative template

• IPPIS does not make provisions for payment of arrears of promotion, study leave allowance, and responsibility allowance, among others

• It is designed to phase out university lecturers above 60 years against the new policy where professors retire at 70 years

• IPPIS is a one-size-fits-all approach tainted with corrupt tendencies

Battle line drawn

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has warned that anyone who fails to register for the IPPIS by October 31 would not be paid.

While the politicians are piling up allowances upon allowances minus their basic salaries and changing cars every 4yrs to the detriment of the nation's economy, they chose to leverage on their unending pillagery by initiating dubious schemes to shortchange hardworking lecturers who toil to impact knowledge everyday under mundane conditions in our decaying institutions.

It's a shame that a man who promised eldorado for legitimate, hardworking Nigerians in 2015 is the same person who is frolicking with dubious, criminally minded politicians to shortchange the masses. If the so called IPPIS cannot be introduced for Nigerian politicians, let ASUU stay away from the univerisities till further notice.

Why don't they initiate the IPPIS for the Presidency down to the Senators, Reps, Governors etc. Is it the poor lecturers who are underpaid in the first place that'll cushion the effects of a bad economy?

Why not post the figures BEFORE IPPIS as well nah? undecided undecided

Are you saying that deductions like NHF, pension, taxes and dues were not being deducted from lecturers BEFORE IPPIS?

The purpose of this thread is not to discuss the adequacy of remuneration of lecturers.

It's to talk about why IPPIS should not be used for lecturers. The OP failed to prove it with the information he provided.

and you wonder why people do yahoo? Doctors earn within this range, only consultant earn 700k upward, even if you are not making people cry through bogus scam and just beg white men in US and Australia with beautiful female profile on rich dating sites throwing them some photoshoped nudes, you would definitely gross more than $500 a month

I now get why a lecturer would want to stay out of IPPS, because before a lecturer can break even, and take care of his needs, he would have to lecture in different colleges (which is violation of Civil Service rule) , sell mark to unserious student (gross misconduct) and over work himself

and to the Dunce slowpoke Denrestupid crying bellow my comment, leave your life according to your own personal conviction, nobody have to live life like you...

King Solomon raided many innocent villlages and looted them dry, stole peoples wives, Moses went to war and also enjoyed spoils of war, same as David and Propet Muhammad SAW, Mathew Jesus's friend and disciple was a very corrupt tax official

United Kingdom raided Africa looted treasure and coonized us same as most European country, American did the same.. coming to Nigeria, from Dangote, to Otedola to Adenuga they all have allegation of corporate fraud, enter politics Buhari, Atiku,Obasanjo, Jonathan, Yaradua snr and Jnr Abiola, Tinubu all have allegation bothering on fraud .. RCCG and Winners chapel, had one time or the other being alleged to launder money especially to UK through their registered NGO accounts, Ibrahim Magu a police Deputy Commisioner whose monthly take home is less than 800k, leaves in Asokoro with rent of N45 million a year, travels first class emirate of 2million naira to Saudi for Hajj, almost all banks commit one corporate fraud or the other

Start your preaching from the top abeg, because na poverty and fear wey never give you opportunity make you sef think say you holy, put a dunce like you near small change now, your own go worst

Matthew 25:14–30 the parable of the 3 legendary Servants best explains Nigerias situation and how to view oppurtunity

While not absolving university lecturers of corruption, one cannot but suspect the Buhari Administration of trying to dumb down and destroy the Educational system.

This is to ensure an almajirisation of the educated parts of Nigeria.

I implore Nigerians to put aside all sentiments and elect a good ,youthful leader in 2023,because if we don't get it right then, Nigeria will require an event of seismic proportion to get back on track.

You should also tell us the pay before IPPIS. IPPIS didn't cut down salaries but ensures tax, pension and other deductions are optimally removed.
People in academics have been evading tax for years and IPPIS enrolment will break that.
Mind u, civil servants are generally poorly paid not just professors.
Op is also a liar, there are other allowances attached.

even with allowance, you cant gross 100% of your income as allowance maximum few percentage around or about 30% to 40% of your income, can a lecturer whose wife is jobless cope even withis figure, except he resides in gombe or zamfara where everything is super cheap

Thank God this post made it to the front page.

See those two guys up there E2000 and SeanWil obviously two yahoo guys, they have turned education to justifying yahoo fraud here. They can't work to earn but prefer duping people who worked all tru their life...

People work 9 to 5 and at the end of the day, those useless boys sitting at home like those two guys will dupe them of their hard earned money.

See them. After all, rich man n poor man, na die we go die... Same ground we go enter, same termites go chop our body then we prepare for judgement..

Let's our kid reap the seed we sow.... Whether good or bad.

God, I need one thing from you.. Just gimme an Idea that will give me breakthrough so that I wunt be hopeless and keep bombarding front page post with yahoo fraud comments like those two yahoo guys grin

...forget that story of nnpc, we know how they cut corners too. They can also seek employment outside Nigeria if they are not comfortable with their current pay or better still, start their own business and make extra money. Them no tie their legs.
