Same way he might consider that your balloon trip to be worthless and never spend that kind of money on it.
For a moment I thought you wanted to argue how impossible it is to blow 1000euros in a pub, like everyone goes to bars to drink corn juice(beer) undecided
A single bottle of Louis treize by Remy Martin can easily blow that in a UK bar.

If I may ask you sir what have you ever done for Nigeria?

You don’t have to answer the question if you’ve ever cut corners or given bribe to get things done in your favour

I was about to bite and start talking about my project, but there is no need because you seem hostile due to the tone of your words. I am not a cut corners or bribe person, but I believe those who do so can change, so your statement is null and void.

I didn’t come here to talk about me being righteous or better than other people, I came here to talk about how we already know how bad things are and how the continuous complaints about the same thing make no sense when you can always just play your part. If all you heard from what I said is the itch to attack, then I won’t encourage that. Enjoy your day.

Your Oga is very wrong with his analyses.
Yes,you can sell one equipment and get 50m naira profit, very true.
But how many times will you sell that equipment? You can stay for 3 years without selling a single one.
You have to sell to the poor in large quantities to be rich.
If it's not an everyday patronage business then it's a bad business.
Most people that made money all sold everyday consumer items.(cement,energy,food,etc...)
Lamborghini makes very expensive cars but can't compete with Toyota money wise for a reason.Their market is very limited.
The moment I start hearing contract bla bla bla...I lose interest immediately.

The US is a consumerist society that encourages debt and credit cards. The virus neva hammer them 3 months and next thing over 30 million people filed for unemployment benefits. Now juxtapose with China that is heavily vested in production and by culture are good savers. We didn't hear people complaining about hunger . This should tell us a lot

Everything you hear about China is what the communist government wants you to hear. Every single thing. I take chinese news with a heavy bag of salt and tomatoes.

The US government has failed in providing palliatives to its people. UK placed people on furlough. Under this furlough, the government pays you 80 per ent of your usual salary. there are still people going hungry and losing jobs but not as much as in the US. Trump is a humongous joke. Buhari is better and thats saying something

The unit price of the most expensive thing sold by Dangote is about N3000, but the revenue made is in hundreds of billions.

When MTN and Econet now Airtel came to Nigeria, the lowest card by MTN was N1500, while the lowest card by Airtel was N1000.

Glo came and disrupted everything, which made them to crash the lowest card to N100.

From the minimum card of N100, MTN made a total revenue of over N1 Trillion from both voice and data in 2019.

A lot of people are poor, any product that will satisfy the needs of the poor will definitely produce money.

Check out the volume of transactions that will take place in Nigeria, if some Chinese Investors come to Nigeria to build a minimum of 200,000 housing units at an average cost of less than N5 million. They have access to cheap finance, manpower and raw materials

When my sister-in-law had this same almajiris being homeless thinking, i had to break it down to her the same way you have just broken it down here. I told her that just as she and her husband sent their kids to boarding house to learn, that is how these same kids were sent by their parents to boarding house to learn the Quran and that the only difference is that they are paying while the parents of those kids are not paying. So they have to fed for themselves by begging in order not to starve while in the boarding house and that if she and her husband were not paying for their kids in boarding house, her kids will have no option than to beg to survive.

I visited UK 2016, I saw people being house in a makeshift canopy by roadsides. We don't have that here. The weather here even encourages us to sleep out door but we don't because we want to copy the white man. In UK at 8°C and less and people are outside. To be sincere, its worst there but since they control the media, you wouldn't see it until you visit. Yes, like every geographical location all points can't be the same. Banana island is better than some spots in UK and USA, some ghetto are lawless over there. If you live in the Nigerian gheto, don't generalize Nigeria as being a gheto. Yes, we are not there yet but nowhere in the universe has arrive its destination. We keep upgrading every day. This countries you compare with Nigeria are over 200 years old. Go back when they where just 50 years old and compare with Nigeria and see us better than them. Am a proud Nigerian, and believe we will get there. All my money and investment is in naira because I believe it will get better and we have better opportunity here. Bottom line, you can still be very poor overseas, some are actually very poor over there and you can be very rich in naija, many are very rich down here.

My perception about Nigeria changed last year when I visited one of the most media hyped countries in Europe for the first time. I appreciated more, the effort made by some governors in this country to improve their state and make certain infrastructures world-class. We are not there yet, but I believe with consistency, we'd get there.

I used to wonder why the foreigners in my organization are always very happy and joyful when they are redeployed to Nigeria. You can literally feel the heartfelt gratitude to be deployed to work in a place like Nigeria. I used to wonder what tickles their fancy about this 'shithole' of a country; worse still, they never ever want to leave once it's time to be redeployed elsewhere. Several of them have been delaying their redeployment for over a year now, and I learnt a few of them are working on getting permanent residency in Nigeria.

They said the impression they had about Nigeria, is usually from the media and Nollywood movies, which depicted Nigerians as fetish, impoverished etc. They are usually very pleasantly surprised after first-hand experience in Nigeria that their perception about the country had been wrong all along.

With a little more coordinated and consistent effort on the part of the government in putting the necessary infrastructures in place, and creating enabling environment for massive employment opportunities, this country is actually a goldmine.

I have also heard that we have one of the best banking system in the world. I do not know how true this is though, but I understand that a lot of the things we take for granted in our present banking system are not available in a lot of countries.

Please, if I am wrong, no need to insult, just correct me, I am not feeling too fine.

No dear, you aren't wrong; I actually have a lot to write but no time. I just know that this country is blessed. The foreigners know this; they'd rather keep us from knowing/ acting on the truth for whatever reason. With a few tweaks here and there, we are actually the giant, not just of Africa.

Nothing elitist about what you have said, apart from Lagos, it is hard to find people who do not have where they call a home, it could be a face-me-I-face-you, small room, hut but hardly on the street, it is hard to see that. Not just in Uyo.

Take a trip to Kaduna, Kano, Jos, Niger etc. It's like saying boarding school students are homeless just because you see them outside the school.

what the almajiris school is reforms and addition to the curriculum so that graduans from almajiris school can also learn English ,basic science, info tech or apprentice in addition to Quran...parent must pay for thsi training and kids must return to parents during brake...but the north is filled with intrinsically daft cleric and mad parents giving birth everywhere

I wonder if it’s the same Nigeria where people struggle to feed that you are talking about. Being homeless does not necessarily mean living under bridges. Have you visited all the parks in Akwa Ibom at night? Uncompleted buildings etc. People are so detached.

Amazon quadrupled their salary and promised their spouses employment with free accomodation in the USA,they moved enmass. One would think GTB online banking unit will go down ,na lie they kept waxing strong. Good brains too plenty for this country.

Does anyone think dull people do Yahoo? Those guys are very intelligent. If we have a serious government, all those Yahoo boys will be deployed in our Silicon Valley. The day this sleeping giant wakes up ,the world will feel the tremor.
