Now ideally because your imports are around 36B - 4 months cover 12B dollars - or to be like Kenya around 17B dollars - but the Naira will always go haywire long before it gets there.

Kenya's economy will keep generating sufficient small dose of dollars - but for you - if Oil drops dead - you're stuck in a situation where you need 36B dollars - and your forex stopped growing or rolling over. Kenya has many small pistons - Nigeria has one gigantic piston. One piston out. Nigeria out. Kenya stutters along although we rarely notice that one piston that stopped working.

Nairobi is very very close to Joburg - give it 10 years top. If the buildings under construction or approval - are completed in next 5yrs - skyscrapperwise - Nairobi will probably be at Joburg.
