If memory serves me right the T72, RM 70 .... etc where rushed into the N.E theatre.
Regarding the VT4 MBT, the crew members are already trained in China.

There is no better feeling than seeing a military convoy of made in Nigeria vehicles. I'm very very sure that in the not so distant future it will be a reality.

I remember the army was supposed to get Varta MRAPs from Ukraine, but that contract has been cancelled in favour of vehicles from Proforce & DICON.

When I see a Turkish army convoy, I immediately wish that's Nigeria.

Our very own armoured convoy attached.

Unfortunately, I'm hearing of some extremely bad reviews for the Ezegwu MRAP. Apparently, it performs horribly

I remember making some observations about this mrap. And kabe was putting me down....truthfully the army doesn't have the technical ability to make an mrap....they should have just stuck with proforce and negotiated a good deal based on number of vehicles....but I guess, the generals needed to make extra money.

First thing they need to do, increased the power to weight ratio, secondly improving on the suspension, the vehicles bounces and sways too much.
If they need to still make modifications and adjustments then it doesn't deserve the hype and fanfare yet.

And a 4 ×6 would make it have more balance.

Oga you did not make any observation, you where just ranting up and down meaninglessly forgetting that ezegwu1 was in the first stage of its development, abi have you forgotten that Ara had been changed 3 times to get to its current stage?

They made alot of changes after that ezegwu1 and there will be more to come.

Don't just come online to rant just because you feel you know better than the actual engineers that are developing it

The vehicle tilts to a side and dips sharply during even simple turns and breaking, boss that vehicle is a safety risk....it's not rany its just logical, anyone that has a car should know what I'm talking about....there is a reason even simple SUVs that are amoured have their old suspensions upgraded and sometimes their engine improved .

Engine, transmission and suspension. Heard that it doesn't really go anywhere without a mechanic in tow. The hull itself hasn't been TNT tested so there's no way to tell of its crew survivability in the event of an IED hit. This is why DICON didn't have to reinvent the wheel and could have easily partnered with the likes of ProForce or Paramount for a proven chassis design. The whole thing vexes me

I try not to get into every discussion but guys there is something called prototype now
What we are actually seeing right now is the prototype
the ARMY ORDERED 130
Even in America the y will not build all models the same now
i beg take am easy
They have to find out ( from experience even in the battlefield )
what works and what does not
prototype no2. has a double axle at the back ( four wheels on the back) that means more weight / versus stability you find a balance
the prototypes will be driven very fast around bends ( what is the tip over speed ? it doesn't make it unstable)
guys take it easy the vehicle is not even a year old !

NAF COMMISSIONS ADDITIONAL WELFARE PROJECTS IN LAGOS AS CAS RESTATES COMMITMENT TO TACKLE INTERNAL SECURITY CHALLENGES IN THE COUNTRY

In its continued efforts to ensure adequate and comfortable accommodation for its personnel to enable them discharge their statutory duties efficiently and effectively, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) today, 19 May 2020, commissioned some projects in Lagos. The projects commissioned include a 6 x 3 bedroom Married Officers Quarters (MOQ) constructed by the Ministry of Defence (MOD), the SB Abubakar Golf Course, Fire and Works Squadron Building as well as an Assembly Hall for the Air Force Secondary School at 041 Communications Depot (041 CD), Shasha. Also commissioned today were a block of 24 x single bedroom Studio Apartments and refurbished Tailoring Workshop at 055 NAF Camp, Legico Barracks, Victoria Island, Lagos.

In his remarks while commissioning the projects, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who was represented by the Air Officer Commanding Logistics Command (AOC LC), Air Vice Marshal Lawal Alao, stated that the commissioning of the projects was further evidence of the resolve of the current NAF Administration towards improving the wellbeing of NAF personnel. According to him, “there have been series of infrastructural developments aimed at improving both the working and living conditions of our personnel. These included the construction of new office and living accommodations in NAF Bases across the Country to enable personnel to be more effective in the performance of their duties whilst ensuring befitting accommodation for their families”.

While reiterating the commitment of the NAF to tackle various Internal Security challenges in the Country, the CAS charged personnel to strive continuously to meet and even exceed the expectations of the Nation by protecting the citizenry and NAF critical assets. “We must endeavour to bring succor to those in despair as we discharge our constitutional responsibilities to the Nation”, he added. This, he said, was the least that was expected of them as NAF personnel at the current period of heightened insecurity. He therefore urged them to justify the resources being expended daily to improve their wellbeing by remaining committed to their professional calling. According to him, “we must do our best to justify this enormous defence expenditure in the face of the dwindling economy. In particular, you have a responsibility to ensure adequate and sustained maintenance of the infrastructure in all our Bases”.

The CAS expressed his appreciation to the Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari, for his immense support to the NAF which, according to him, has made the improvement of personnel welfare possible. He equally thanked the Honourable Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (retired), for the construction of the 6 x 3 bedroom MOQ in Shasha as well as other residential quarters built by the MOD in NAF Units in Abuja and other parts of the Country within the past 5 years. The CAS also commended the Commanders of the 041 CD, Air Commodore Nkem Aguiyi, and 055 NAF Camp, Wing Commander Usman Yahaya, for providing oversight of the projects during the construction phase. He enjoined them to ensure that the facilities are put to good use. Also present at the event were the NAF Director of Works, Air Commodore Ilemobayo Amodu, and Principal Staff Officers of the Logistics Command.

Calm down
The Tanks came in two different shipments
The second were not rushed into service because they had to travel from LAGOS
The RMs let just say we agree we are on a social media platform so let us just agree the crews had to be trained to use them ( I am deliberately leaving stuff out).
For the VT4
LT GEN LAMIDI ADEOSUN
Said some were trained ( in CHINA)
Some were supposed to be trained but the trainers ( read Chinese ) were unable to come because of the COVID -19 VIRUS
Also go and look at the pictures the TANKS they were being unloaded had at least one Chinese Individual is there there ( Probably military)
The likely scenario is the remainder of the TANK training will be done via video link and+ Tank Simulation before they go into the field.
don't forget even as we speak more stuff has probably arrived since then.

First it was the tanks would not be rushed into north east theatre now it’s the second batch would not be rushed into.....

The 1st batch of 15 40”ft containers are made up of spare parts, accessories and munitions. Now he never made mention of COVIC 19 has an hinderance .
So those Chinese that came in your mind her trainers/instructors. They are the engineers that would do the last coupling/fixing of other parts and see that the hardware are good state to end point of delivery.
