People come here for advice so if you have one to give,
be unequivocal about it. Like I wrote earlier, what is your exact advice?

Also, no one is taking your posts personally, remember I even thanked you for it. But if your posts are about your opinion, I also have the right to look at it from my own perspective. I'm sure that is why Seun Osewa included the 'quote' option. Remember the topic on ground is open to different interpretation

Am not in a position to tell people what to do. All I can do is tell situation on ground, whatever anyone do with such news is up to them.

And please for Pete sake, stop taking my posts personally. This is an online forum, I have a right to my opinion as long as it's not misleading.

People also come here to hear facts and know what's happening.

You can air your perspective independent of my opinion. Don't wait for me to post something then you come out to find "exact advice" or do witch hunting.

What you think is not an advice to you can be advice to someone else. Live and let me live too

The school is located in Texas. I was also given a health insurance waiver. I was given an estimated cost of living of over 20,000 dollars, the reason for the deficit. I wonder why it is that high.

The estimated cost is not even high compared to some schools. If you have tuition waiver, it should cover 90% of the estimated cost per year. How did you come about the deficit?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by sonofakin: 8:40pm On May 19, 2020
In summary, your advice is "chill, chill, plan", "be realistic". I find that funny because one would have thought what people are trying to do is to grow wings.

You keep saying facts but I guess we have different definitions for the word FACT

You are right though, maybe someone here would benefit from your opinion so I rest my case

San Francisco state University and all 23 campuses of California state University just announced that fall semester will be online. No in person class till at least 2021.

let's keep watching
This is just for California State University system which doesn't comprise of other Universities in California(e.g USC, UCLA etc). We all know that every institution is not certain most especially on International students making it for fall this year but many schools have resolved to have in-person classes this fall. I think come June/July things will get clearer concerning embassy reopening and International students. I think there is no need making things look gloomy or sad as we do follow the news and the trend of things. We will know better later

Pls house can i pay SAT fee with firstbank MasterCard.I have virtually searched Google for this information yet I got nothing.I do be grateful if someone can help me out as I want to register May 26 or 27 as priority candidate.

I also read here about an SAT WhatsApp group, which I will like to join

You should be able to pay with the card, proceed if you have the funds ready.

1. I thought SAT was suspended.
2.Are you doing SAT+ Writing?
3. How much is the fee?

Talk to family members, friend's parents, uncle, cousins, open up to people in the REAL world around you, those that might actually help.

Truth is, you won't get practical advice on here as regards to showing proof of fund. Also, don't be overly desperate to the extent of going for your interview with a fake SOA, it will hurt you badly.

It used to be easy when uncles can just provide a letter with their account statement, stating their willingness to support you if there is a need to, but with EFCC and FIRS on the lookout, nobody keep their money in banks anymore.

The take-home point here is to open up to people around you, and carefully establish your case; help often comes. Don't be overly secretive about your move; to people around you.

PS: Make sure you actually have some money too. I mean maybe not $8000+ but make sure you're not coming to America banking solely on Assistantship income. It's not as easy as it sounds; in reality.
Thank you for this. Most people I have met so far have invested their money in treasury bills, other investments. They don't have the actual cash in their accounts. I will continue searching though. Thank you.

Hi guys....If you got Admission to TTU and intend choosing the school. check this updated info from their website: https://www.depts.ttu.edu/gradschool/admissions/covid19/index.php . I also want to ask great people here, please what will you advise? Is it either to choose Online classes for fall semester or defer my admission. Although, they said that once I defer admission, I will have to go through the process of paying application fees then it goes thru normal application process. While that of Online classes will just be that I wont be eligible for OPT ( To be eligible for OPT u must complete a full session ie Fall and Spring in person) . I think OPT should not be a big deal naa? my fear is also getting Visa even if I have started Online classes. Please kindly share your experience. Thanks.

You do not have to pay another application fee if you have to defer your application. OPT is a big deal, I will advise you not to enroll for online courses if your program is just for a year. This is because Fall 2020 will certainly be online while spring 2021 may likely be online too. However, if your program is a 2 year program, you may continue to enroll online for Fall 2020 if you are a son/daughter of a Nigerian VIP where you do not have to use MTN data to stream classes or submit assignments and you will not depend on the Nigerian PHCN.

If you have funding that you dont want to loose. Just mail the department and convince them to keep your funding for you while you defer your enrollment. Man, studying online from Nigeria will not be an easy task.

The situation just as it is for every other prospectives here require a lot of thinking. So give yourself enough time to think about it. From the link you provided, I think it is better to 1st contact your program for advice because things might be different from program to program. For example, some programs will allow you to defer to spring 2021 while some won't. About the OPT,
to me it is important but from the link you provided, it would only be a problem if you're going for a one-year program. Nevertheless, you should ask yourself if you are ready to commit resources for online class, knowing fully well you might not get the full experience and it still wouldn't guarantee Visa. Truth is US immigration are not saying anything yet.

For Canada, they already decided that fall will be online. International students can apply for visas online, if you get it, you can proceed to enrol by August, if you are denied Visa, then you are denied enrollment, nothing else changes. I think that is fair enough. I am in your shoes too and I doubt if I will enrol an online class. It depends on the conditions my program give me though but I doubt it.

My advice, talk to your program. If they let you defer to spring 2021, consider it, since you will not have to go through the application process again. You can choose between that and enrolling online for fall; well, if you don't mind

Hmmm Thanks guys. I think I will have to contact my department If the funding will be affected or not. If not I will make enquires to defer to spring. If yes then online option will be a better way.
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Tella26: 3:07pm On May 20, 2020
I already asked the department and they let me know it wont affect the admission and funding..Alright thanks guys..I think deferring will be a better option.
