abraolas1: Not trying to proof anything but stating the obvious. If a place is falsely painted as lawless, investors avoid such places. I can't accept what I know is not the truth. That will be a disservice to this great forum that has schooled me in investment. Uyo and its environ is serene for legit business. 9 Likes |

Barrytone:Is obviously you think you can write any thing as if Ak is in the moon.Let me tell you is not just few people sleeping in plaza but many under age children with most of the girls into unimaginable acts to survive.and the boys consistently breaking into shops around plaza. The police are tired of arresting them because no one comes for thr bail. Then sars killing many weekly.Nobody is sleeping in AkTc park because is well managed but many are sleeping in the general park. What is happening in itam park is not cult boys is criminals living in the open thr.The cult thing is within the university area .Go towards barracks road, ududoma from morning till evening you see large number of youths riding bicycle and on rolling skate, which the governor had to intervene by banning it.I laugh in Franch of the wealth you mentioned. How is it possible when most young men are either keke/mini bus driver.A state that has more Keke /mini bus than actual car and people. If I am wrong take a drive on week days and see the traffic. And the task force is mostly for Keke and Mini bus.Guy the poverty for thr is so high with the kind of money coming to the state. And most people indigenous people are living in face me I slap you with pit toilets. It is unemployment that has created 65 cult groups in the state .Then this we have oil mentality that is making them not ready to work but all want free money and touts everywhere from aka road, abakrd ,oron etc 6 Likes |

9jatriot:Sometimes I wonder if it is the same Nigeria I know you guys are talking about. You know the longest I've ever waited to be served in a bank here in Canada? 5 minutes or less. You know how many times I've lined up to withdraw money from an ATM? ZERO. Yes you read that right. Zero times that I sometimes wonder if I'm the only one that uses ATMs. I could from the comfort of my bedroom take a photo of a cheque and have the funds deposited in my bank account, within seconds, without leaving my house. Unless you are a witch and you fly at night and have canvassed the length and breadth of a state i doubt one can say with all certainty that there are no homeless people in some states in this our Nigeria. It would be baffling if true. Even first world countries have homeless people unless there is something i am missing. 6 Likes |

You are right. But some banks in Nigeria offer good services too. In terms of securing the IT infrastructure , give it to Nigeria. With the adoption MFA/ 2 factor authentication. Etc . Was surprised at the level of IT security in place in Canadian banks. But I think they are insured more. Nnamz: 1 Like |

I do not think one can accuse you of missing anything, but the point being made is that the standard of living in some towns and villages is so low, accommodation so cheap and the communal style of living in some of these towns and villages makes it impractical for anyone to be homeless except maybe Hausa boys who do not mind sleeping anywhere anyway, that is the point being made. Accommodation in Lagos is very expensive so you can expect many homeless people. No body is claiming that Nigeria is now an Eldorado, we are just just saying that not living in a duplex does not mean you are homeless. Phraences: 2 Likes |

ahiboilandgas: The dividend yield of MTN is also less than 7% but the business grew big in the last 20 years. The most important thing is the ability of the business to increase in value and grow, if that happens a yield of 3.8% is still okay Treasury Bill or money market fund are places to keep reserves, when the reserves become very big part of the reserves should go into growth investments, businesses and assets. 13 Likes 1 Share |

emmanuelewumi: But I think MTNN needs to seriously improve on their future dividends to investor from the #4.97 they paid based on the price of a unit of their shares. I received my dividend yesterday but I had a better return in GTB, Zenith, UBA, UCAP and some Others. Even Dangcem will pay me a better dividend of #16.00 per share in two weeks time. 4 Likes |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by emmanuelewumi(m): 8:49am On May 20, 2020 |
ahiboilandgas: Exactly, capital will appreciate when a business grows. In 2004 Peterside Atedo the founding CEO of Stanbic IBTC Bank, said his friends who invested 100k when he started his bank in 1989, had the value of their investments grew to N120 million 15 years after. That is the geometrical increase that can happen with a business or Investment in a growth company operating in a growth sector. The bank grew from no branch, no customer, no profit in 1989, to millions of customers, multiple branches, billion Naira profit etc in 2004. You also need N20 millon to get a bank license in 1989, you also need over 300k to buy a new Honda Accord from Honda's Place in 1989. So the 100k invested by Atedo's friends could only buy fairly used cars in 1989 and the car should be a scrap valued at 50k in 2020 Atedo and his friends who believed in him and invested in his dreams are now billionaires in Naira. But how easy, is it to get honest and trustworthy business partners nowadays? 18 Likes |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by emmanuelewumi(m): 8:54am On May 20, 2020 |
anjilgreat: An interim dividend of N2.50k was paid about 6 months ago The growth curve has reduced for MTN, more like an income business that will give you steady income. But I can see growth in the mobile banking business, they just got a license from CBN for that. The business will continue to make money during this lockdown, a lot of people are working from home and they need data The exponential growth was enjoyed by the pioneer Investors who invested about 20 years ago, when GSM business was a virgin area in Nigeria 2 Likes |

ahiboilandgas: N1 millon invested 20 years ago is now worth over N500 million now.. Check the profit history in the last 20 years from less than N1 billion to over N200 billion, the increase in the assets of the business in the last 20 years, increase in revenue from hundreds of millon to over one Trillion naira, number of lines from less than 1 million to over 60 million, introduction of data to initial revenue stream from voice |
