This exactly is the point instead of being blinded by the love of sexy football.

It is not by being blind but opening our eyes to adopt the working system. If not we will get to quality tourneys and get toyed with.

We showed in the past we are capable and we can do it again if we work towards it. We need to change our orientation and work towards a more efficient strategy.

I can assure you that with the right offensive philosophy, right scouting and right selection, I can assure you we will rip teams apart and cause even top teams headache.

The problem is that we have grown with the defeatist mentally due to entitled players.

I still root for Amunike And Finidi pair.

Both are home grown, played in our local league.

Both played under the highest point of our game, the US 94 team under Clemence Westerhof.

Both played under the tactical grandmaster, Louis Van Gaal (Finidi at Ajax and Amunike at Barcelona)

Both played in the Spanish league which is known for their appreciation of brilliant passing football.

Both got their coaching licence in Spain.

Enough of recycling old coaches and give the younger ones their chances. I say Amunike head and Finidi Assistant.

amunike is not a good candidate for the job
I'll prefer Yusuf sacked and be replaced by finidi

I'm tired of our exinternationals lazying around and waiting for the next job Nigeria have to offer them, they should go and look for job if not in Europe there are clubs in some African countries who will take them even our own NPFL, we don't owe them anything they should go and look for job and have a good CV

Bruv it's very very very difficult for a black coach to get a Managers job in England as well as in Europe.

The system is intrinsically racist and corrupted.

With all the black players you have in England and with thier European A licences they cannot get a job. Best you get is youth football.

Look at what happened to Darren Moore at West Bromwich and Chris Houghton at Newcastle. Blatant unrestrained racism.

This is the English life they never talk about in the news.

Base on stats or what?

Really, man?

Simon has played for two teams that have contested for league titles, Trencin and Gent, yet the highest goal he has amassed in a season is 7 goals.

Onyekuru scored the goal that won the Super Lig for Galatasaray.

19yr old Onyekuru contributed 12G+5A for a Eupen side that were newly promoted and had scored only 40 goals. That season he scored 23 goals plus nine assists.

When gala won the league in 2018 Henry scored just 14 of his team's 72 league goals. This is not good enough for a team that won the league. But Henry was their highest goalscorer and also the highest goal contributions with 17G+A.

What of Anderlecht? Onyekuru said this
"Anderlecht wanted me to have surgery but Everton refused and asked me to come back to England ,”
“I checked and one of the specialists told me that I could just undergo rehabilitation and that I would be better in a few months.
“I returned to Belgium to play, but the Nigerian coach had to call Anderlecht to ask them to allow me to play for only 15 minutes so that they could confirm that I was fit to play (for the World Cup 2018, note) ."
“ The coach was crazy. They wanted me to stay another year, but I refused because of what they did to prevent me from going to the World Cup.“ if Onyekuru had played in the World Cup, he would have gained a UK work permit and become eligible to play for Everton.
Onyekuru made just 14 starts for Anderlecht, yet scored 9 goals. He was also the second highest scorer for his team.

Onyekuru currently plays in Galatasaray, and his first goal and first MOTM came when Onyekuru played rivals Fenerbahce. Gala had never beaten Fener away since 1999. In the first leg at Gala's home, Gala couldn't even score a goal. Yet they scored 3, Onyekuru scored the winning goal and was voted man of the match.

When two Champions in 2 different leagues, leagues with different styles, want a player so badly that Anderlecht could do what they did, that player is no sludge.

Amunike is a fantastic candidate. I can bet even those in the upper Chambers of the NFF know because of his time in charge with the u17 and U20. Even though the U20 team did not qualify, they only lost one game in about 50 matches, both competitive and friendly. It was sad that the only game they lost (due to poor support from the NFF and awful pitch that hindered their game play) caused them the qualification.

We have not had a side well coached as that in a long time. Amunike showed dedication and passion to that team. Even at the U17 World Cup, there was praise in Amunike's invention which was new to the game by the FIFA technical Committee.

World Cup 2010: Germany Coach Joachim Loew Reveals That Attacking Play Is The Only Way To Success

Germany World Cup 2010 head coach Joachim Low has revealed the blueprint for the exciting attacking play which has his side on the cusp of success.

“The plans for how we wanted to play at the World Cup have been thought over long and hard since the draw on December 4," Loew revealed.

"Our analysis was quite clear: we could only win the World Cup by playing attacking football and making life difficult for other teams.

"The way that Italy won the title in 2006, by defending and winning by a single goal, is no longer possible – you don’t get anywhere playing like that nowadays. We planned the World Cup all the way to the final.”

https://www.goal.com/en/news/1863/world-cup-2010/2010/07/05/2010977/world-cup-2010-germany-coach-joachim-loew-reveals-that-attacking-

I wonder where you got the idea of Joachim Loew being a defensive coach. Not his style and has never been his style.

Look at the last paragraph of his quote. You will see that the idea of just holding your cards to your chest and winning anyway possible is passing fast.

Look at the teams in recent years from National football, champions league to leagues across Europe. One thing is King, offensive/possessive play.

You can go through games and tourneys trying to win games but from the German side, to be great, you prepare for greatness.

Liverpool and Man City dominate because of preparation to dominate.

From Germany, Spain, to an extent France, you see sides built for attacking fluency.

Nigeria did not get to the height we did in US 94 and Atalanta 96 by defending and hoping on the gods to decorate us with good performance. We went toe-to-toe against some of the besr and caused them problems.

We need to change our orientation or get swept away by the tide of modern football.
...
Summary
The German team are one of the most exciting teams at the World Cup in terms of their young talent and array of attacking options. Although Löw has been accused of defensive tactics the team has the ability to counter-attack quickly in incisive break-aways. This might just be the beginning of a very successful national side.

https://timhi./2010/06/05/high-hopes-for-low-and-his-young-talent-germany-2010/

The above was before the 2010 world cup. I watched the World cup, Germany being my favourite team, and it was clear they were a counter-attacking side.

...
Which brings us to Germany. They too play a 4-2-3-1 and, although Philipp Lahm breaks forward occasionally, theirs is essentially a defensive set-up. Here again goals are the great betrayers; it was bewildering how much praise was heaped on their supposedly fresh, open approach just because they scored four goals in three games. This Germany was superb on the counterattack, and the interaction of the front four of Miroslav Klose, Thomas Müller, Lukas Podolski and Mesut Ozil was at times breathtaking. But this was reactive football.
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2010/jul/09/world-cup-2010-tactics-the-question

Have we ever had a better team than this German squad?

That is why I said EPL coaching rejects are the stars of the championship. Not that they are special or out of this World. However, in Spain, you find Spanish coaches battling it out for the top jobs. That is due to their coaching class and it filters down to the lower leagues.

I doubt the English championship coaches are of better class to the coaches in the lower leagues of Spain. The English coaches lack the tactical training and acumen to operate at that level. (I give Scott Parker an exemption.)

Roy Hodgson, Frank Lampard, Brendan Rogers and Eddie Howe are not from England.

Scott Parker is not better than Chris Houghton and Darren Moore or even Sol Campbell.

Nigerians re obsessed with attacking football even if we dey play against Germany, Brazil or netherland of this world. Mostly pple wey dey cry for the team to play that way na lay men in the game like me who knows nada about football tactics cheesy cheesy

The same attacking brand siasia deployed in the 23 teams and super eagles where his team will score 6 and concede 5 in a game cheesy

the player a team has dictate the formation/tactics a team can use
with the pool of player Nigeria have Nigeria should be playing a possessive game with short play and a balanced/attacking formation ....I don't really fancy the idea of defending the ball for 90mins and the attackers doing nothing it doesn't sound good
Joachim pep and kloop plays an attack minded game and yet concede very few....Nigeria defense is very cool (considering how they hold brazil) and you've midfield that can hold the ball and a very sharp attack then why is rohr always afraid to try an attack minded formation or at least a balanced formation
moreover the idea of giving the ball to d oppenent and sit down to break is very primitive many coaches are already aware of this Nigeria should be playing a possessive game
Rohr really need to improve on this area

That is why I am so angry with the induction of Yobo into the coaching crew. What technical expertise is he bringing to the table to assist Rohr in this aspect. In sane climes, no FA should leapfrog Amunike and Finidi that will bring an offensive dimension to the team to land on Yobo. Now they are prepping Yobo for the coaching job.

Roy Hodgson is by no means fantastic. Will never cut it among the top tacticians. Still a man who sets up his team to stop his opponents. Hardly the one to dominate opponents.

Rodgers. Not English.

Frank Lampard, impressed but he is part of the new adoption of modern day football going on in England. Thanks to the success of Guardiola, if not the English coaches would have been lost in the Wilderness.

Not watched Moore and Campbell enough to draw an opinion. But, I am impressed with the high line play of Parker. Although he is still learning and has a long way to go.

I see foreign coaches taking over the jobs of the championship in a few years time.

Guardiola was playing attacking football at Barca and he was conceeding less than those playing DF.
Guardiola and Klop both plays AF at Man City and Liverpool and they both concede lesser goals compares to other English teams that plays DF.
Playing AF doesn't equates to conceding more if your tactics is good.

Play attacking football and keep the ball, your opponent won't even see the ball not to talk of scoring you

Amunike's challenge was being involved in player transfer. He has links to the young boys he groomed. Like his link to Iheanacho.

Apart from that, he has fantastic resume and has the ability to deliver the goods in a brilliant way.

His selections over the years has been brilliant. Also, he is linked to some of our current talents having worked closely with them in the past. Like Iheanacho, Ndidi, Chukwueze and Osimhen. So a smooth integration of his tactical ideas.
