I disagree on this. The REVA's are actually really good. Nigeria under the GEJ admin bought most of the 2015 hardware in a rush with little regard for spare parts and maintenance. Equipment such as the T-72 suffered from this fate as well.

Unconfirmed but highly plausible reports of three more Pantsir S-1 air defence systems destroy in Libya within the past few hours by Turkish drones. Two in Tarhouna and one other in Sirte. This makes a whopping SIX Pantsir losses within the last 48hrs

This is false. The Reva MRAPs are very poor. They were used by the best funded unit in the front line. They came as a total package. It had nothing to do with rush or maintenance.

The MRAPS from China were bought by the same administration, why are they still active.

The T-72s were also bought by the same administration, but second hand, yet they are still active in the frontlines.

We should not have bought the Reva, 50 units purchased, yet not a single unit is in active service. How is that for brand new equipment?

China has a unique advantage that almost all the manufacturing processes (or very similar processes) on the planet are done in their country. Other countries struggle in knowing what machinery or otherwise to start from. Some components or similar materials may have been made in China at some point.

So, Reverse engineering is not straightforward, Takes many years also and significant funding. Some even fail.

If Nigeria want to RE, start with the T72/T55/Vickers. We still need engineers, lots of them.

You're validating my point. M1A2's were lost in Yemen due to poor infantry support tactics and incompetence. I've seen many videos where Saudi troops were out-maneuvered by Houthis and abandoned their positions whereby Houthis physically walk up to the abandoned tanks and set it alight.

Other scenarios of M1's being taken out by Houthis was through ATGM's. The US export version of the M1 lacks DU armour unlike domestic ones in US service, hence, by their specs, would not be able to withstand Kornet missile strikes as we saw. The point being, Abrams performed as advertised based on its armour rating.

The Pantsir (which is essentially an automated system) however failed even when fully activated to detect and engage not even high speed or high altitude aircraft but something far more basic; a slow and low flying Bayraktar drone. This is by no means an isolated incident but something that has happened time and time again to the same system across multiple battle spaces and users.

In conclusion, while user expertise is a factor, the Patsir's laughable combat history against comparable ADS's points to it being an inferior system

Big chunks of shrapnel went through at 2 places ( 2 lateral cuts in the roof ). Plus the vehicle bore the brunt of the explosion of the warhead. Any jihadis jaywalking near the car would have been hit too.

Direct hit ( impact fuzed warhead ) would have resulted in a more or less huge circular hole .

Nevertheless as good as a direct hit with impact fuzed warhead. Proximity fragmentation/HE warhead is the best choice for higher kill probability.
