*why do we farm only Achatina Marginata breeds?*

Well because Achatina Achatina is not our native breed here in Nigeria and does not really move in local markets,what you'll find is Marginata everywhere, there is no major difference between them, they both grow big,but our people are more exposed to marginata
Also Achatina Achatina breeds are not as rugged as Marginata, AA has high mortality rate
But they lay alot of eggs,Meanwhile AM lays low number of eggs, but have low mortality rate

*when is the best time to start snail farming?*

You can start snailfarming any time of the year, thanks to our green house,it provides an all year round enabling environment for the snails, the green house is aimed at providing a synthetic wild for the snails.

*how long does it take before harvest starts?*

in the greenhouse it takes 1 year and about 2 months till harvest starts proper,note you can't harvest everything at once, you harvest every month or two. snailfarming is a game of patience
do we sell snailfeed?
yes please we sell snailfeed, bags of 25kg
also if we build a greenhouse for you,you are entitled to a formula to mill for yourself.

*do we give discounts on the number of snails we supply? *

We don't give discounts on livestocks, even if you buy 10,000 pieces, it's because of the cost of feeding is calculated on each snail. Which amounts to running cost.

baby snails do not lay eggs, snails start laying eggs from about 5months upwards, except if they are not babies.. how many months old are your snails?

We just finished a construction of a 60 by 40 snail greenhouse in ikorodu Lagos, we managed to work during the lock down even though materials are now so expensive,

The greenhouse stantion was erected, irrigation fixed, planting done, snail fields prepared, double entrance door system done, nice walk path done, greenhouse net was done and all other necessary activities performed in the farm

Now we are waiting a month for the plants to grow, constant wetting will be done for the next one month in order to allow the plants grow, we plant Cocoyam and no vegetables whatsoever, we don't plant vegetables because it covers the top of the soil, allows weed to grow, thereby if termites are on the soil we won't see them, we only plant crops that grow tall away from the soil in order for us to monitor activities going on the ground, termites are number one enemies of snails, and there is no such thing as pest eradication, you can only control.

After plants grow, we'll now stock the pen with snails and train the farm manager or whoever will be managing the farm, please note, management is a very important part of the farming process. The structure and consultation takes 40% while management takes 60%, anyone working in a snail farm would work against the clock as snails are nocturnal animals, snail farming is not plug and play, it involves hardwork and commitment.
