I think it's the same place. I was told they have different modes such as fully online, in-house and three weeks online and one week practicum in their centre there.

My concern @ Whyna is about the acceptability of this certificate because I saw a lot sense in your early analysis that a program of such nature is better undertaken elsewhere rather than in naija for obvious reasons. Please does the certificate issued by this Ikorodu center command recognition there? Please help a brother, biko.

I am currently studying for my TEFL certification online and hope to round up this month. Afterwards I will see to the next phase is authentication of my documents in Abuja. My only concern now is the lockdown if MOE, MOFA and the embassy are open

5. It depends on you. If you work full time or part time and if you work in a school or a center or both. The least you can be offered is $800 with accomodation and it's mostly in a somewhat rural area. That was the kind of job I was offered. It was full time to and thankfully, I didn't take it. You should expect to make from $1000-2000 but remember, it depends on you.

6. I'm sure if you read through the thread, you would see some of the costs stated there. I have started forgetting some. A good estimate is 2M and no you won't use it all up. I stated this before too

Please can you give more info or link to the organization you registered with for the TEFL. What's the cost of the TEFL?

Summer:

Whoever said blacks can't tan was lying. When Spring came and the sun started showing up gradually, I was excited. Like it had been cold for a while and no sign of sunshine so it felt good to feel some sun on my skin.

People kept saying I shouldn't wish for summer too quickly but I just laughed. Don't get me wrong, I love and prefer the cold but a li sun wouldn't hurt.

Then I started seeing people. wearing long sleeves, no not just long sleeves, it's like a gown that covers from head to toes when going out. I didn't understand until today.

The sun here didn't come to play I swear. It's not just hot but the air is HOT and the sun FRIES! your skin. See pictures of my arm after I went out to fix my bike.

Banking...

Don't be surprised if you open an account and you're not given an ATM card or even internet banking services . Most banks if not all require you to stay in the country for more than a year before you qualify for that so get ready to go into the bank whenever you want to withdraw money.

Also, you can't deposit money to your account or someone's account unless you're ready to provide proof of that money. No be small wahala. All this is in a bid to curtail money laundering or so. There are other ways you can do this though.... depositing money I mean

This is a ticket with number you're given once you enter the bank. Just like what they do at MTN or DHL office so no need to queue. Just wait for your number to be called.

Accidents

Last night, I had an accident. It happened soo fast. One thing I've noticed is when you bash or someone bashes your bike or car, KEEP MOVING.

Nobody does the screaming, yelling, a beg na, pay for damages wahala. They can just mumble sorry and keep moving.

So I held on to the breaks too fast to avoid hitting some guy who was trying to zoom past someone Infront who was clearly trafficating. Landed on the floor and hit my "head" . Thankfully, I had a helmet on (which is compulsory here) so the helmet was what actually hit the floor.

The only person that stopped was the guy who was trafficating and had nothing to do with the accident. The other guy just prolly kept going.

Thankfully, I'm fine, not a scratch. My headlamp got broken though. First mechanic said it will cost about 18k in Nigerian naira to fix it and some other part that was broken.

Got another mechanic who's fixing it for 7k. Price price price.

Bottom line...these guys here drive rough. Expect anything at anytime. They don't have the other road users mentality. It's all about them

If you're all about he efizzyi life, it's in times like this you'd be glad you rented an apartment that comes with free swimming pool and gym membership. Usually, those kind of apartments cost nothing less that $350 for a studio apartment.

One good thing about Vietnam is you can live in 4 different areas and house in a year. Just make sure you sign 3 months contract only. If you don't mind moving around, houses are in abundance.

It's still difficult taking pictures. One thing I'd really like to show you guys is what traffic is like here and the amount of bikes on the road. It's crazy!

Those buildings that look like this usually have the pool and gym thingy. If you plan on coming to Hanoi, you can look at places like Vinhomes, Five point avenue, An Bin City etc

This doesn't even come close to the amount of bikes on the road during traffic but manage.

There are traffic lights and all they really obey them. Sometimes you have offenders who beat traffic lights when there's no oncoming vehicles.

Also, if you're here, 03 red light = GO.

Where does the police want to stand and arrest the rough drivers? Inside the traffic or in-between hundreds of bikes?
