Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing has dismissed speculation in the Nigerian media that he would represent the Super Eagles rather than his country of birth, Denmark. The former Denmark U21 international admitted that he held talks with Super Eagles coach and told the German of his desire to represent the Scandinavian country. Though he has been called up to the Danish senior team, he can still apply for a change of association because he has not played any competitive match. Nigeria fans appear to be disappointed over Billing's decision to decline an offer to play for the Super Eagles, with some saying he's not better than midfielders Oghenekaro Etebo and Wilfred Ndidi and others saying he is not needed in the national team. Here's what they are saying on Twitter : @MMbah001 : "No philip billing for nigeria. A danish newspaper BT confirmed. He is only interested in playing for denmark 100 percent. So case closed. No super eagles for him." @Dagbada : "Who needs this one....Go and sit down". @Psalmuel__ : "He is not even good enough At Bournemouth. Fought relegation last season, new team struggling stay up this season.Bad quality". @berbzz_ : "Well.. No disrespect towards Billings, but he can't actually Bench Karo, or Ndidi for Eagles. He can be good for depth, but we dont actually need him." @Abi_odun : "He's not good enough he might end up no playing for any national side tho.. Cos Denmark got many bad guys on their books". @ambassadoriffy : "Good choice Billing, because I don't see where you'd fit in with @NGSuperEagles.You are surely not good enough for us." @Uption4u2c2013 : "Poor player wey no get level. Ball control zero. Your club side you’re not even regularly playing. Park well". @BetrandEzequiel : "Who be this one...You cannot even bench Kelechi Nwakali that has not been capped". @AkinsTouch : "Who is begging him?" @tech_appr : "He wouldn't make our bench". @fabasmd : "Enough of this insult. We don't need him". @Chimabro : "We don't need him." 1 Like |

Joebie: Billing commitment to Nigeria was very doubtful to me. In all honesty this guy has zero affinity with Nigeria. There are black guys who are black and there are some who are essentially coconut, black on the outside but totally white on the inside. When l met Solanke it was apparent that he had zero affinity with Nigeria and l made it clear that he had no interest in the first place and he wasn't good enough in the second instance. However, l remember speaking to Bobby Adekanya and l thought l could speak to him and loose him with my basic Yoruba. But this kid could speak Yoruba fluently and complete floored me. He always identified with Nigeria 100%. The same with Ovie 100% committed ages ago although he no fit speak Uhrobo but he deh try uh small then use basic pidgin cover. Eze will play for Nigeria just a matter of time. 1 Like 1 Share |

Subzero047: Dembele has been on the radar of many clubs for the past few years. From when he was a teenager at Fulham he was the best U18 striker l have seen then. He went to Celtic even refused a £50 million January transfer to Chelsea, very wisely yo keep his career on track and long term development over immediate gratification. 1 Like |

daveP: Anyone who rates Billing than Ndidi is a white-butt-licking nonentity. This season alone, Ndidi makes more tackles yet has less yellow, takes more shots, makes more interception, has made more goal contributions in less appearances, averages more passes yet he has better pass accuracy. The only aspect Billing dominates Ndidi is his aerial ability, and that's because he's 10cm taller. Ndidi has a better rating, is the second best rated player in a team contesting for top 4. Billing is the best rated player in a team fighting relgation. Ndidi has been consistent for years, when did Billing begin. Ndidi has been rated the best DM in the league for years, one of the best in the world. It's total disrespect man. 6 Likes 1 Share |
