Hello @Lexus

Does one still have to register for auto update service withing 2 weeks of receiving DBS Certificate? i got mine recently and didn't know about that.

My company arranged for me to fill the forms and all... did the checks.. and some docs got posted home..

It is not compulsory to register for the update if you only need it for the first time or just the company you are with. If you will need it for other companies/purposes, then it will be IMPORTANT else you might have to keep re-doing the DBS. Update service prevents that by having your details updated each time and the companies can verify online.

Also, note update is not available for BASIC checks.

Please is it wrong to have like 3-4 names on a council tax bill that you want to use for spousal visa extension?

especially for those that don't live exclusively alone.. and need bills to show proof of cohabitation?

my name,.. wifey's name.. her sister and husband's names too.. for the same house..

mind u.. it is within the rules which says we should be not more than 5.0 in a 3 bed room house..

I need more bills to show for spousal visa extension.. and currently have just bank statement and Water bills as proof (i need minimum 3 sources)..

SHELL Energy say they strictly show only one name on its own bills while Virgin Media for internet and cable have no way of helping us get my name.. no phone number to call.. strange

thanks for this .. i will apply for this asap..

if some bills refuse to add my name .. can i use a bill (SHELL) with her name and address and then provisional drivers license with my name and same address for the same month/period.. e.g June 2020..

Is there any place in UK Gov where these are all stated like the way it was clearly stated for initial spousal visa application?

This spousal visa extension process is annoying.. no clarity

Another good news, medical soldiers of covid19, that died at the covid19 war front.....

Their families would now get ILR, due to death of their medical soldier, at the covid19 war front.....

That includes Health Care Assistants, Porters, Ward clerks etc etc

Another reversal of immigration policies.....

It's not a must you use Shell if they "strictly show only one name on its own bills" (which is strange!). It's very easy to switch especially when there are several providers.

It will gradually. There was a time this page wasn't getting a lot of traffic as well. Even right now there are times thread regular get busy and we drop off front page.

I have mixed feelings about this bereavement scheme , so one has to die before his/her loved ones benefits? How about giving them ILR while that DrHealth Care Assistants, Porters, Ward clerks, or career is still alive?

It will if you keep it updated. There are many threads like this here even for US but the biggest prob is not keeping the thread active

Exactly why must it take their death before granting them PR but other side of it is easing the financial stress on the family that just lost someone. I foresee more immigration changes coming

You can use a combination of bills in your own name and your spouses' name in each quarter e.g. Bill/mail in wife's name for quarter one + Bill/mail in your name for quarter 1. Bill/mail in your name can be phone bill, charity you support, bank statement, credit card statement, HMRC document, car finance statement, insurance policy, professional body letter, bonus or promotion letter from employer (All addressed to you) etc. NB: not letter from your friend.
