I think he can be proud of traffic in some way but not a nuisance one of Nairobi without coordinated plan. In some way traffic jams is a good trend for development. It is from their goverment will plan building high ways. Large roundabout and multiple road lane. Just like in the big cities of China, there is always traffic jam despite high development but not a nauseating one .

Nairobi traffic is not as bad as Samrobo Lagos - where people sleep in their cars for five days. Nobody on earth has as bad commute as Lagos. On average Lagosian is on the road by 4am - and will be back home at 10pm. If he prepares dinner from 10pm - he probably sleep midnight - wakes up 3am - and to prepare for the long commute!!

And then add electricity blackout - and the heat of Lagos. The poverty and the hustle. Lagosians are super-humans the most stressed of any human being.

Yes traffic is good indicator of economic activity - but also a failure of mass transportation - buses, trams, subways, metros. Nairobi has commuter rail that carries 15,000 passengers - but needs an overall to be able to carry 1m passengers daily.

As for West Africa - where do we start? Maybe remove the Okadas and 3-wheelers first. At least in Nairobi the 14 seaters were long banned - new registration not allowed - and we are transitioning to buses and mini-buses.

Kigali is big. 1m people city. And super clean. This in country of 10M. Namibia Widhoek is smaller but probably cleaner than Kigali. That probably the only city that is as clean as Kigali.

Kigali city is very small, surrounded by villages n stuff, what i cancan say about it its a clean city

Pretty much an oppressive state,

Anyone visiting there will sing praises as Kagame will desimate you for saying bad things about it

Much of east africa are not free states theythey are authoritarian,

I only visited Windhoek and a city whose name sounds like swa something some 40 km away. That was about 15 years ago. The airport is some distance from Widhoek - but generally Namibia is super clean. I didn't get to visit it famed beaches with sand dunes..Walvis bay. And there were a slum or two I saw.

Siwtzerland to Norway to Sweden how does that even work out? Switzerland is in the middle of Europe. It has scandavanina kind of development vibe but it's in middle of Germany, France and Italy.
