Thanks so much, Mikeval001. I'm really grateful. Please can we connect.

Mikeval001:
To be honest you will need lot of prayers, believe and patient because it's not easy to get appointment date from the embassy especially on category B.

I was on this journey last year,I got admission in May 2019 for September intake and I applied for appointment unfortunately appointment didn't show till the year ended. I was said and worried and funny thing was that at the time I didn't know much about Nairaland mainly because I have three friends studying in Germany so they were helpful with guidelines but i forgot to put into consideration that a lot has changed since they left Nigeria in terms of appointment date and other things. I funded my block account with Fintiba last year June, when I couldn't get appointment date for September my school decided to defer my admission to March 2020 then I rebook another appointment but still I couldn't get appointment date for category B for March, I could remember vividly that even people on category A then couldn't get appointment date except for people on category A with scholarship, to be honest I gave up and I started working on how to get my money back from Fintiba and to the glory of God I got it back three weeks ago.

Now I'm processing another country but I've learnt and know a lot about Germany so I come here once in a while to give advice and answer questions to the best of my knowledge.

Evening bro. I also applied last year and didn't get any reply until the year ended. Please I'll be glad if we could connect. Thanks

And also, what does AD and AL mean?

Pato5:

This life sef. A friend of mine told me this same thing (his experience last year) early this year (Jan) when I was still applying. I rushed to book the appointment that January only to get AD for Mar 17. I had no admission then so I ditched the appointment. I have applied again last week after getting AL. I hope I will be lucky again.

Apply to as many as possible, it is not a given that you will get admission in any course for sure. Cast your net wide. However, the higher your CGPA, the better your chances of getting an admission. Also be sure you read the admission requirements for each prospective course thoroughly because many people waste a lot of resources and time applying without paying attention to details and this might be the difference between acceptance and rejections.

It has been a while I visited this German visa section. Started from one, I cannot believe that it is part 8 already. Well, feel free to ask me anything about Germany, mention or quote me, and I will be available to answer to the best of my knowledge.

well I did an interview with university of gottingen yesterday and it went well. I was asked why I picked the school, my future career, why I didn't perform well in my lower level in the university days. It's not really difficult.
I also applied to the University of Gottingen in February, I will like to know the course you applied for.
Thanks

Ask me about Germany or else there will be floodgates of personal questions, which I might be willing to answer truthfully.

My questions is since economies of the world is in recession what do u think the impact will be for prospective student in Germany. And this classification of category A and B is worrisome?

Good question. German economy is fairly stable and resilient. On paper, the German economy is on recession because of the pandemic. Germany was hit hard also although death rate is comparatively low. A lot of people with less secured jobs are out of work right now but things will definitely pick up when this is all over.
For the A and B thing, I would suggest you guys come together and think outside of the box. The embassy here definitely know what they are up to.... Probably a lot of students are making that move to Germany and they are have decided to put a celling over the number of students allowed to get in.

Should in case visa got denied or one couldn't get appointment date like in my case and you decided to forget about Germany and focus your energy on another country, in such case you will want to get your money block account money back and it's take time to get the money even with Fintiba which seems to be the fastest German bank not to talk of other German banks which will even take longer because they will request for series of documents.

It took me one month and few days to get my money back, and I got it back without providing visa refusal letter. So why would you fund your block account and go to so much stress if you eventually need to get your money back due to one reason or the other.

Please don't fund your block account without having appointment date for your own good. If you have appointment date and you need to find your block account, with Fintiba it will take you less than two weeks for the money to reflect in your German account

Sharonte:
Thank you bro, please permit me to ask what is the risk involved if an account is funded before an appointment date?

Please guys, has Rhine waal postponed their bachelor programs application for may 15??
Was thinking it shouldn't be affected since it's uni assist that's handling it...
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Mikeval001: 12:18pm On May 23, 2020
That last happened two years ago I guess. The answer to your question is no,the new rule says you must have the the COMPLETE required block money in your account which is 10,236.

I know we Nigerians believe so much in prayers and religion but please don't for any reason think with prayers and faith you will go for interview without your complete block money and you will get visa....such miracle no dey oo. Do the right thing to avoid story that touch

TOMSY:
Please, is it possible to go for the interview before funding the account?

1. Letter of admission is a confirmation by the school that you meet the requirements to enter the programme and you have been accepted.
"Confirmation of applicant"... The term is a bit vague depending on the context. It could mean that they have confirmed your application documents to be true or received but I wouldn't count that as an admission letter.

2. Proof of eligibility: This is the entrance requirements.... Just as stated. It is a proof that you meet the minimum requirements for admission. These include the minimum language proficiency, minimum University entrance qualifications, or minimum CGPA and other accompanying documents.
