I have been curious and remain as such.
This question keeps bothering my mind.
No matter the sumptuous delicacy with assorted meats and fishes, We (Africans especially) tend to eat the food and eat the meat at the last.
My question is; but why?

I think it goes beyond African parenting now

Used to do that way back when I was still living with my parents but now, one spoon equals to a bite of meat . So I finish both at the same time or the meat runs out first.

I believe its an African thing.

Just say its upbringing. Nothing more.

You wan make your Mama give you correct slap??
Food never finish you dey near the meat or fish... funny thing is that even now I don't allow my kids do that simply because I believe that if they eat the fish or meat first, their stomach won't have extra room for the main meal...

I thinks it's the mindset... the meat is seen as the reward here so you go through the food to get to the meat.. it helps you to finish the food something like a meat motivation

Personally I don't eat much which I'm not happy about so I don't make the mistake of eating the meat when the food is yet to be finished, if not my belle go just tight.
My eating habit is really bad, I'm not proud of it......if I see junks I don't have business with cooked meals
