Dont compare Upper hill which is a new cbd to the old raggedy Lagos and Abuja. The place was a residential area few years ago. The skyscrappers caught everybody by surprise. The county govt is now upgrading the roads to match its newfound status. What you see now is not deterioration but the roads that served residential areas before they were torn down for skycrappers. As you know sammy, our old CBD is jam packed! There's no more room for development, and we need to take on Africa Btw, in a few years upper hill will be looking like Downtown Manhattan...Hate to say this but even JoBurg is not in our bucket list

I am not sure where you get the impression that Kenya rural areas are not improved. It appears Mzanzi started to build rural homes recently - but Kenyans have been investing in rural areas since 1960s! Nearly every Kenya including those in urban areas have a home in rural areas. I think 99% of kenyans maintain two homes.

50% of Nigerians are poor. That is 100M people. More than twice Kenya total population. Lagos is one huge slums. Not just makoko alone. The entire city is like a slumpolis.

Nairobi has no lake or ocean but it has 2km long bridge. This is the earth of Nairobi Eastland - lower middle class - where Nigerians can afford to rent if they combined like 10 guys.
