bellong: Much appreciation sir. As regard work experience (Overseas skilled employment – (outside Australia)) in the Point calculator, I intend to claim over eight years experience, which I can prove. This work experience was in a Process/ Instrumentation role with a manufacturing coy but I did not do any project, hence the use of Master's projects. Hope using academic projects( Master's Projects) for my EA assessment would not cast a shadow of doubt on the acclaimed years of experience when applying for subclass 189? Besides, I worked as a Technician in that role, and now I'm applying to be assessed as an Industrial Engineer having carried out projects on Six Sigma, LEAN Manufacturing ,and Process Improvement during my MS program. Will the work experience provided/not provided during the EA assessment be a factor when I'm to turn in the subclass 189 application ? |

bellong: Welldone Bellong. I honestly don't know how you do this. I benefited from your knowledge 2years ago and here you are still doing this when most of us have forgotten this thread and barely make out time to give back. May God continue to bless you for all you do. It's just so amazing. 6 Likes |

@SilaV, You cannot claim technician experience for engineering occupation, it will not be assessed positively. Secondly, the experience must be post qualification. If you are keen to get experience points, assess your qualification and experience with TRA. Look through the list for a technician occupation that matches your experience. If you assess with TRA does not mean you cannot work as an engineer. @ozonechrome, Amen. God bless you too. |

SilaV: You can upload your transcript directly. That was how I did mine. EA didn't ask for official transcript from school. |

Please Bellong I need your candid advice. Also Tunlex01 I need you to wade in on this because I think you assessed through Vetassess. I have read the threads extensively and I still worry. I have a bachelors degree in Law and a Post Graduate Certificate in Business administration. I have worked in the banking sector for 11 years. as an Executive Assistant, HR rep, Business Development Manager,Relationship Manager and presently Head Contact Center. I have thoroughly looked at the job role of a Customer Service Manager(After Bellong advised i look at it) and found out most of the tasks there, I performed as BDM and RM. Also all the job roles I am doing now as the Head Contact Center. Now my worry is my degree which is Law and a 5 year program, I read that if I don't have a highly relevant qualification I must give up about 3 years of my work experience to Vetassess. That's not a problem too, but I also read for you to have a positive assessment from Vetassess, you must have a highly relevant qualification and work experience in your nominated occupation. Somewhere on this thread I read that Vetassess is not giving positive assessment if you don't have a highly relevant qualification and work experience on a nominated occupation and this scares me. Having analyzed Vetassess' case scenarios on their website, especially the case of a Computer Analyst, who worked as a Store Manager and later became a Restaurant Manager and nominated the occupation ''Restaurant Manager'', I know I have a chance but what I read on this thread about people's assessment experiences worry me Please guys I need you to critically analyze this for me before I go in for assessment. I am willing to take the risk. Its better than not trying at all. Other experienced guyz can also contribute. Thanks |

@Bellong: Please I need people's assistance, as a transaction officer in a bank (teller) with 6year working experience using a computer science certificate (HND) can I b assess positively under TRA , hardware technician as the skill. Or which other skill did anyone know that I can fix in for? please help me out. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 3:18pm On May 24, 2020 |
Ormoretayour: No, you cannot assess for hardware technician because you don't have the experience. You need both qualification and experience for a positive assessment. |

@Corjay, You have nothing to worry worry about. You will be alright. Your worry should be aligning your job responsibilities with ANZSCO descriptions for customer service manager. Regards. |

Dear @bellong, Thanks for all you do here. I would like to PM you for professional advice regarding Australia migration. I am at a crossroads regarding decisions to be made. I would not mind paying a fee for this as my situation is quite peculiar and requires exploring alternatives hence your expert opinions. Thanks in anticipation of your feedback. |

Good evening @Bellong. I have been following your thread and some other threads on Australia immigration for quite some time now and it took me this long to make a decision. I am a graduate of Geology(2.2) from a Federal University(2009) and do not have a job experience except the 6-months IT. I started a business right after I finished school, got married and had kids. Relocated with my kids to the UAE at some point to be with my estranged husband and came back to Nigeria few years back. I registered a company while I was in the UAE and started a business when I came back to Nigeria again. Due to so many factors, major reason being that quality of life in Nigeria is expensive and you don't even get the quality of what you're paying for, I have decided I move to Australia/Canada with my kids with Australia being my major preference, away from this country, the drama and endless issues so as to start afresh. But my issue is that what options are available for me to relocate to Australia with 2 kids? I will really appreciate your advise as I know most are based on work experience and all but I don't mind studying first as long as my kids and I have a sane life. Please help, will be looking forward to your response. Thank you. 1 Like |

At the moment, there is no occupation I can think of. Generally, banking occupation is not in significant need except specialist financial skills at the top level. |

@Geodamsel, How old are you? What sort of business do you do? Are you divorced or just separated? I will be able to offer advice when you answer the questions. |

not often do we see post concerning EA assessment, tnx Bellong, Tunde, yungmin nd others for your effort. let me also take this opportunity to ask some questions. 1. can someone without experience apply for EA assessment 2. if yes to Q1 how will the career episode differentiate a person with experience from the one without an experience since both of them have to write a career episode. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 4:12am On May 26, 2020 |
cola1: 1. Yes 2. No, the only advantage a person with experience gets over non-experience is experience point. As per assessment, EA is interested in your ability to transfer your knowledge into practice. This can be demonstrated through the CDR. You can use your 6 months industrial attachment and final year project to write the CDR. Refer to EA's website for further info. Guess I misunderstood your second question. Though partly answered. EA is not interested in differentiating applicants but for prospective applicants to demonstrate their engineering knowledge and skills through personal project. 1 Like |

corjay: How long have you been head of contact center? You can't be a Relationship manager or branch manager and assess as a CSM. They are not related. |

@Bellong, thank you for the response. I am 30 years old but will be 31 later this year. I am into events' management and Interior design. Was also doing exportation but that was mainly when I lived in Dubai. I am currently separated and my estranged husband does not live in Nigeria. Knowing what to do or my chances with the Australia Immigration will determine my next step.Thank you again bellong: |

Geodamsel: If there is any likelihood of coming together again, he may be the principal applicant if he has the right qualification and experience. If there is no hope of reconciliation, your option is the study route. There is no occupation on the list to match your business experience. If you can afford the school fees, you can move as a student. You will also be prepared to pay either childcare fees or school fees for your children. All the best. 1 Like |

Have worked as Head Contact Center for one year now and still counting . RM is Customer Relationship Manager. part of the job role is making sure customers are satisfied with services and if there are issues brought up by them concerning products or services, we resolve immediately and if we cant we escalate. Also making sure your subordinates are in line with this customer satisfaction policy tunlex01: |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 4:24pm On May 26, 2020 |
corjay:Okay. Your head of contact center role can still pass but a relationship manager cannot be a CSM cos you don't develop policies to improve service. It goes beyond customer satisfaction. The CSM role is typically an head office customer experience manager role not a branch role. |

Right, But will the one year as head of contact center guarantee a positive vetassess assessment considering the fact that one needs about 5 years experience to get about 10 points on work experience? Will other years be considered as well? tunlex01: |
