Don't wonder why Nigeria is so poor despite selling oil for 60yrs. You borrowed some billions in 1980s - and didn't pay. The interest compounded so much it got to 36B. There was no way on earth you could repay that.

Now as we speak - after starting from a clean slate - you're long overdue for another debt forgiveness. I read some Mzungu claims that 18B bailout was basically flushing money down - because 10yrs later - poverty has not only multiplied - the debt has also multiplied. Total waste of donor money.

Before COVID-19 - you were spending 75% of your revenues to repay debt. That is world worst.

COVID-19 and oil price drop have halved your revenues. We can, therefore, assume you debt servicing ratio is 150% - in other words NIGERIA iS BANKRUPT - UNDERWATER - and urgently need another Paris club negotiation.

And btw we are talking about federal debts...we haven't gone into the 36 states that are eye-balled with debts.

In short even if you spend all the Naira in your gov coffers - you cannot meet your debt obligation . If Oil doesn't recover - before the end of this year - you'll be the next VENEZUELA. Inflation will mirrors Zimbwabwe...something like 2,00,000% and to buy a loaf of bread - you'll need a wheelbarrow of Naira.

Pray, fast, and sacrifice for oil prices to recover to something about 40 dollars.

How's your own debt, mumu?
You already owe $70bn, more than your actual GDP of $60bn. You placed Mombasa port on the line so you could borrow from China. How has that helped you? Your people are still starving and your slum population is growing. Now you are borrowing to fight locusts. grin

You're just too poor to afford. 32! I have seen the cars on your road - the average age is probably 20yrs: The same with Ghana.

Kenya's cars are at least 10yrs old on average. Nigeria 20yrs - Ghana is probably 25yrs

Look at Lagos roads and cars - horrible

There's a cars per capita index but nothing on average age of national fleet which would make interesting reading.

Dont compare Upper hill which is a new cbd to the old raggedy Lagos and Abuja. The place was a residential area few years ago. The skyscrappers caught everybody by surprise. The county govt is now upgrading the roads to match its newfound status. What you see now is not deterioration but the roads that served residential areas before they were torn down for skycrappers. As you know sammy, our old CBD is jam packed! There's no more room for development, and we need to take on Africa grin Btw, in a few years upper hill will be looking like Downtown Manhattan...Hate to say this but even JoBurg is not in our bucket list wink

No mister, you shouldn't hate to spill out your delusion. ...even up until.now I am still yet to see that world class infastructure in nairobi that shows the trend of aiming joburg....you want to see modernity then check out Sandton,capetown...
That's by the way...Ikoyi also has always been a residential area that is also taking us by surprise but the roads has not deteriorate to that level. .so your point goes to the waste ...try something else...

Empirical evidence obaboon is everything. I can confirm that imports from Thailand from Nigeria, Benin and Cameroun have dried up this year.

Your idiot brother rvp already confirmed that Benin's rice imports have dried up. Nigeria is Africa's number one rice producer. You are a useless old man. cheesy

No. The data is solid. It's comes from..

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) developed the international standards for measuring and defining tall buildings, as outlined below, and is recognized as the arbiter for bestowing designations such as the “World’s Tallest Building.” These standards also inform the basis of the world's premier source for accurate, reliable information on tall building data, The Skyscraper Center.

And it appears like COCOA house that got burnt completely in 1985 - Independence house is not any better - a DERELICT - that got burnt down in 1993.

Right..Independence House is another COCOA house ..CONDEMNED building.

The Independence House, at one point the country’s tallest skyscraper, was ‘gifted’ by the British upon the (nominal) termination of colonial ties in 1960 and has sat abandoned since a fire in 1993.

Mombasa is a beautiful city with world-class beaches.

South Coast - Diani Beach - that is literally god gift to the world. If you ever afford - go there. In Africa - Zanzibar, Seychelles, DIani, one Egypt beach and that is basically GOD GIFT to Africa!! in beaches.

I am not sure where you get the impression that Kenya rural areas are not improved. It appears Mzanzi started to build rural homes recently - but Kenyans have been investing in rural areas since 1960s! Nearly every Kenya including those in urban areas have a home in rural areas. I think 99% of kenyans maintain two homes.

They are not improved..stop lying with your cheap talk...if you couldn't improve your urban centre like Mombasa, nairobi, kisumu what makes you think the rural is improving. .
Heck even the urban centre have no access to clean water, bad roads (acess to bad road is even better than not having any at all),good housing. ..you rural is litter with tree branches hut or at best mud house. ..I have seen this in alot of kenya rural videos. ..good houses is almost non existent..

They have received a few small debt forgiveness here and there. That's what they are worth, my brother.
If you ask them to pay let's say: 10bn$ to cancel their remaining debt, do you think they can do that? A $60bn economy is small fry for such negotiations.

That guy doesn't understand how international finance works. I have said that countless times here.
u no see say I no bother to reply d mumu. If u ask them to pay even $5b right now and all their debt will be forgiven, I bet they'll still ask the creditor for the $5b as loan, they can't cough out $5b just like that..... Even their biggest infrastructural project since independence fund was borrowed, common $3b pere. grin
