ROM flashing is about installing (flashing) another OS (a custom ROM) onto your phone's primary storage (ROM). For instance, most Xiaomi and Redmi phones (except the Xiaomi Mi A series) usually come with Xiaomi's skinned version of Android called MIUI, which is quite different from stock Android (fonts, UI, themes, widgets, etc). Not everyone is a fan of MIUI, so flashing custom ROMs give users the opportunity to enjoy a different experience on their phones.
There are two things to note;
1. Snapdragon phones have more custom ROM development compared to other SoCs.
2. Installing custom ROMs is not for everyone, and it is also not a cakewalk. You have to follow a particular custom ROM's installation instructions else you will end up bricking your phone.

i am still a Redmi 7 fan but i swear Mi9T is like the queen of all fones.

Mi9t Issa complete phone for its price, it's Amoled is swt, stock cam is beta buh Hypercam is the best.

I'm using Miuipro (miui base custom rom) it's magnificent
I play Call of Duty on a Very high graphics and it's the best,

I have a deer case and a clear silicon anti shock case in addition to the follow come case, I also use screen protector for both screen and camera.

Though the screen protector makes the fingerprint slow, but it sha works.
