but the ijaw involvement in the civil war was a mixed bag ...some fought on the side of biafra and some on the side of the federal troops..

However the larger percentage of ijaws were themselves not satisfied with the workings of the eastern regional govt which to a large extent was not friendly to minorities...

Adaka Boro 12 day revolution was more of a protest against the eastern regional govt than the federal govt...this happened before the civil war hence it should not be surprising that Adaka Boro led more of ijaws to fight on the side of the federal troops
