Hi everyone I need urgent help . I have a Honda Civic 2008 , car had bad tensioner , it makes noise in the morning but stops later in the day , few days ago the car stopped on the road and refuse to start , mechanic said kick starter was bad , he removed and took to a repairer , after replacing kick starter , check engine light came on and stayed. While trying to replace kick mechanic broke the temp sensor switch and he later replaced it , after two cars car became so hot and oil dip stick melted inside , tensioner noise increased and cut the belt eventually , we towed to workshop and mechanic advised replacement . We brought engine and gear out , cleaned and replaced parts with another new kick starter , after all installations car didn't start but smoke burst out of kick starter yet car didn't start , mechanic said engine is gone , the engine had no issues before all the mechanic interventions , please help . info@eotwilliam.com.ng |

williams20: Why why now ,,,I think by now a lot of peoples should be learned that those local mechanics spoil your cars ,,when you see that situation you will have go for scan and start from there ,,well with your situation now have You check wiring issue on your car ,again with your write up you said initial stage is bad tensioning,if is that the timing belt is loose and that make it not starting ,the timing is not set that why didn’t start in first place ,the kick he brought he may have bypass wire for it that lead to melting in your car. |

Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by diportivo: 10:01am On May 21, 2020 |
Toyosienna: you say? car overheated so much so that dipstick melted tensioner wasnt even changed initially.... kickstarter worked at first after it was changed and then the other things caused a chain reaction....switch....tensioner there is no bypass in this issues as it has been succinctly explained.....engine don hook...simple williams20: bros u left too many things to chance, sadly the engine already had issues with the severe overheating it was just a matter of time na replacement engine get u |

Hello all, I am in urgent need of a spare parts dealer/reliable mechanic in oladipo who can deal with my accord 07. Car brake pedal shakes on high speed suggestive of faulty brake disc. Washed engine and now it jerks. Water in plugs? Engine vibrates when placed on D, whilst totally stopped in traffic. |

luvinhubby: Good day boss. I have this 2006 Honda accord v6 (discussion continues). It has a couple of problems and I need help with it. 1. Car seems to loose power. It drives like a weak old 4cyl engine. Some times the throttle will need to be pressed all the way down before the gearbox kicks down. No, the gearbox doesn't slip, it changes smoothly. No check engine light. Air filter has been cleaned. 2. When started in the morning, it sounds like it had a leak in the exhaust, but sound normalises as the car warms up. You barely notice the bad sound when fully hot (not completely gone). Car had a bad exhaust gasket, which was fixed. All attempt to find another leak proved abortive. One of the three catalysts is missing in the pot, though pot remains intact (don't ask me how), but the remaining 2 are in very good shape. I don't think the missing catalytic converter is the cause cos catalytic converter is only responsible for emissions, but I might be wrong. 3. The car fails to crank sometimes when the ignition is turned. I just get a click from the engine. I have to return key to 0 and then try again. Sometimes it cranks on the 2nd or 3rd attempt. I was told it was the ignition switch on the steering column because it makes some tiny sparking sound if the key is turned slowly to start. I've replaced the ignition switch, sparking sound is gone, but sometimes it still doesn't start. Could it be the starter going out? Any advice will be highly appreciated. Tnx |

Good morning everyone. I've an issue with my Honda Pilot 2007. So 2weeks ago, I got into the car to start it and it wouldn't start. Just made a click sound while all the lights were on and bright (cause I got a new battery). I contacted luvinhubby and while waiting for his reply, I decided to try something out. While the ignition was still on, I moved the gear to D and moved it back to P, turned off the ignition and tried to start.... It started once... This has happened a couple of times and with this trick the car starts once. Was planning to order the kick starter but with this development I've become confused on if the kick is the problem. Please let the gurus put their heads together and solve this mystery Thank you 1 Like |

Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by nas00(m): 12:47pm On May 25, 2020 |
sureboykris: Hello Sir. Symptoms are in keeping with a faulty transmission range sensor. You should have a DTC pointing in that direction. Scan the car to be sure. Once confirmed, replacing the sensor should solve the problem. |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by nas00(m): 1:16pm On May 25, 2020 |
victoreyefia: Strange if the check engine light came on for that reason. There might be a coincidence, so I would suggest you scan the car to know the real reason. You may drain the radiator by opening the plastic 'butterfly' screw at the rear bottom end. Ensure the radiator cap is open for faster and complete drainage. Replace butterfly and fill radiator and reservoir with coolant only. Cover radiator properly but keep reservoir partially open. Next, take on a short drive till temperature gauge reaches half mark, return to park. - Allow enough time for engine to cool very well, then open radiator again. You will likely find the cells appearing dry, because pockets of air initially trapped below the coolant would have been expelled, so that the coolant level drops significantly. - Refill radiator and reservoir with coolant only. Repeat the procedure described above. You may need to repeat once or twice before engine temperature stabilizes and coolant levels stop dropping in-between test drives. 3 Likes 3 Shares |

Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by nas00(m): 8:57pm On May 25, 2020 |
sureboykris: DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) These are essentially the codes a scanner would show you when you scan the car. Each code has its possible causes. It is based on the DTCs you find on scanning that you know what needs to be fixed. Contact Luvinhubby for the sensor, but only if scanning shows you that the sensor is faulty. Thanks. |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by nas00(m): 9:03pm On May 25, 2020 |
sureboykris: No qualms Sir Scanning is not rocket science. There are basic scanners available on the market, so it's something you could do yourself if you had one. You can work towards buying one. That said, I don't know your location but ask around. You might be able to get somewhere around you to scan. Cheers! |

Hello guys I am glad to be here. I intend buying one of the 8th generations of the Honda Accord (i4 series) so I would like to know, 1. Which year is the best? 2. What is the common problem usually associated with the 8th generation? 3. What kind of maintenance would I have to carry out on it to keep it in good shape? 4. How much should I set aside for maintenance in a year? 1 Like |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by luvinhubby(m): 12:33am On May 27, 2020 |
BarrSly: 4 cylinder, 2.4 engine. Rattling of camshaft actuator (nothing to worry about) Change fluids regularly and avoid fake fluids, replace key suspension components once a year. Any amount # |
