thesilentone: Starbucks (SBUX) is a good company with a decent dividend yield. I will put an alert around $76.2 if it triggers I might get into it. Roger (ROG) looks interesting. It's a $2 Billion company and I've never heard of it. It looks like it's got potential. I've added it to my watch list while I seek out a good entry point. I got into another small cap industrial company Triumph Group (TGI) last week, stock is up 44% since then. I want to seek out explosive small cap stocks with potential. 3 Likes |

Took a stab at futures of Virgin Galactic due to the voyage to space today by space x and NASA. I assumed that this would be a boost to confidence in the space industry and could have a positive ripple effect on the future performance of virgin galactic. It’s 60% up today. Wish I put more 6 Likes

ebuka1997: For all the years I've known and watched CNBC, Jim Cramer has recommended Comcast (CMCSA). Granted, they are the parent company for CNBC and they provide both TV and internet service to their customers but I've never had a good feeling about investing in traditional media companies since the advent of Netflix and other streaming media. But comcast looks really enticing here. In fact if it drops to $39 I will buy a few shares. I think they also offer a steaming service. |

afroxyz: Wow the stock is up almost 10% today. The airlines are rallying hard off their lows. I don't think we are completely out of the woods even as more cities reopen. Things can turn south fast, so if you are a short term investor, please have a close stop limit price to take you out. If you are long term, you can add to the dips. 3 Likes |

A very interesting one. Warren Buffett vs Robinhood traders. There was a big surprise at the recent Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting. Company Chairman Warren Buffett was unenthusiastic. He said the future is bright, but he didn’t sound upbeat about the near term. He’s worried about the current crisis. That’s different than his attitude in 2008. He was excited about stocks then. He even shared his view in The New York Times in a piece titled: “Buy American. I Am.” While his words are important, as always with Buffett, we learn more from his actions. Probably the most significant action to consider is his recent inaction. Buffett controlled $137 billion in cash at the end of March, $10 billion more than he had at the beginning of the quarter. As stocks fell, Buffett didn’t buy. He was selling. We know some of the shares he sold ended up in accounts at Robinhood. It’s a no-commissions broker that’s a favorite of millennials. Investors need to ask: Would you rather follow Buffett or the individual investors at Robinhood? This question offers insight into the current market rally. Buffett Wants out … These Investors Want In At the end of 2019, Buffett owned significant stakes in all major U.S. airlines. His position included 11% of Delta Air Lines, 10% of American Airlines and Southwest Airlines, and 9% of United Airlines. These shares cost over $7 billion. By the beginning of May, Buffett was out of these airline stocks. He said: “We made that decision in terms of the airline business. We took money out of the business, basically even at a substantial loss. We will not fund a company … where we think that it is going to chew up money in the future.” If Buffett wants out, it’s reasonable to wonder who would want in. A small exchange-traded fund (ETF), the U.S. Global Jets ETF (NYSE: JETS), went from about $50 million in assets at the beginning of the year to more than $600 million. The chart below shows the number of shares outstanding (the purple line) versus the price of JETS (the blue line). As you can see, the amount of shares issued climbed sharply as Buffett was dumping the fund’s largest holdings and the price of JETS was falling: That means U.S. Global had to create more shares of JETS to meet the demand of individual investors. According to Robintrack, a website unaffiliated with the free broker, about 250 Robinhood customers owned shares of JETS in February. Now, more than 22,000 own JETS. Warren Buffett is holding a record amount of cash. Individuals are bottom fishing. They’re hoping to benefit from a rebound. Personally, I would follow Buffett’s lead. Regards, 1 Like

YerYer: Bought about $10,000 worth of shares combined of Delta Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines & American Airlines. I’m already up almost $2,500.00. I’m planning to hold till next year. I still believe that once the lockdown is eased, the Airlines shares will fly. Get in if you can now. 6 Likes |

Alexandre7: Traveling by air seems to be the most logical form of transportation in the States given the distance interstate. I spent more than two hours flying from one state to another (direct flight). Ha! On our shikini island, traveling from the north to the south is 45mins (direct). It goes to show that the Airlines will DEF return, however, just buying airlines because it looks cheap now won't be a solid justification since 'GrandMaster Chung' WB has bailed out if you factor his TWO fundamental stock investing rules. I'd say look at the airlines that have less than 3 years debt and key in. My 10cents 4 Likes |

ukay2: Delta Airlines (DAL) - Almost 2 years SouthWest Airlines (LUV) - less than 1 year United Airlines (UAL) - Greater than 10 years American Airlines (AAL) - Almost 5years I have stated in previous posts that I am always weary of companies generally that have more than 3 years worth of debt (Pre Covid). What do you think they will do with this Black Swan? Ready made excuse for loading on debts. Some of these airlines have serious pending lawsuits as well. So do your due diligence. That's my long term mindset activated but I strongly believe that Airlines will make money in the long run. Not Recommendations 3 Likes |

: Us Stocks Pick Alert by naijaman0817(m): 5:45pm On May 22 [quote author=YerYer post=89812037] Sir, I believe that's one of my screenshot from years ago. That option trade on Cisco (CSCO) is known as a long straddle. That's when you buy calls and puts of the same strike price with different expiration dates. This strategy works best in stocks with increased volatility. Regardless of which direction the stock price moves, that strategy makes you money. However this strategy will not work on less volatile stocks, you will lose money. Happy to hear you are reading about options. TD Ameritrade also has the ThinkorSwim platform, it is the gold standard for option traders and it's completely free for members. If you haven't already, download the software on your computer and phone. You can analyse an option trade before entering, the analyser will show you how much you set to gain or lose based on the projected movement of the stock Vital information, is this ThinkorSwim platform available to their members only or can just anybody have access to it? You know Nigerian residents cannot register with Ameritrade I have been doing a lot of research on straddle and them, I found the iron fly and cordon strategies, they are quite great Please throw more light to their applicability in stocks rather than options Iron fly can really bear very small risk and aim at x100 plus profit More light More light |
