https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KISK6s_zHQY ''It is not true'' Minister of state for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba dismisses claim of schools resuming on June 8 Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, has dismissed reports making the rounds on social media that schools nationwide will be reopened for academic activities on Monday, June 8. Nwajiuba who spoke at the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 today May 27, said a statement that was alleged to have emanated from the task force directing the opening of schools, is not true. He said the Federal government is being careful not to allow children return to schools and expose them to the virus. He added that the Ministry will follow the guidelines and advice from the Ministry of Health and the NCDC before schools can be reopened. 7 Likes 4 Shares

Mr minister of state is in no position to say when schools will reopen it not. Buhari can come on monday now and declare June 8. The big guys who call the shots are bent on things returning back to normal. Airport reopening means interstate travel ban would be cancelled which would result in religious gatherings and schools reopening. By the way, where is education minister, Adamu Adamu?? We've not heard from him since that jugular ASUU chairman gave him. 17 Likes |

From what I'm seeing, this period is more like 3rd term holidays.. Schools will likely resume late July and close by second week of September.. First term will resume after a week holiday (Late September).. WAEC likely to hold on September or October.. 12 Likes |

It's a tough call to reopen schools just now. Children being who they are cannot do social distancing or observe all those sanitary calls by themselves. So it's gonna be hard for them, not forgetting they are the most vulnerable in all these. 4 Likes 1 Share |

What are this people talking about? Can school be more crowded than a market place in terms of social distancing? Allow this students go back to school pls. Their brains are getting rusty tbh including lecturers and its not their fault. |
