Thanks @emmasoft quote author=emmasoft post=90055796] @Risingcash94 and everyone please note for this sukuk bond, all financial institutions listed and all SEC licensed market operators are agents to collect the money for the federal government at this moment, paying through any operator or institution is not a problem no one will collect commission from you. FG the issuer has taken care of all those, hence you have one week between closing date and settlement date for all agents to reconcile accounts . As it stands now even if you submit to another institution or bank your holdings will be access officially through the broker that open your CSCS and also incase you decide not to hold to maturity they will be the one to do the selling. We should not be skeptical about any agent. Once you check they are licensed by SEC go ahead deposit to account given to you, non will run away with your money just for this transaction. Of course you wouldn't know the regorous process to qualify to do this job for the federal government. I can tell you sincerely you don't have any reason to doubt. Without being biased I can tell you that there are some level of cover you enjoy if you go through a stockbroking house. By now you should know I don't work in Afrivest. I make this clarifications on General ground. I'm with investment one. Same terms conditions apply to all. [/quote] 1 Like |

9jatriot:@9jatriot I never bad mouth any company here. I am making clarification generally on market operators that no one should be skeptical subscribing through them as far they are licensed to do so. That is summary of my post. 2 Likes |

Guys this Buhari/Osibanjo campaign just reminded me of the possible outcome of long term investments. 5 years ago dollar here was at N216/$, now dollar is N440/$. Does it mean in 5 years time dollar could be N880/$. That means if you convert and invest N5m ~ $11,111 in Sukuk bond, after 5 years interest on 5 years will be N2.8m then reconvert capital + interest to USD i.e N7.8m/N880 = $8,863. It will feel like I swallowed my pride after 5 years. 3 Likes

faoogoke: Honestly sir, this your comment is very deep and strikes a very sensitive cord in me. I admit that my earlier comment about disintegration is ill-informed, as a matter of fact, there is barely any excuse not to invest. I will share my personal experience. When i began working, i reached out to Adron Homes about one of their land packages in Shimawa. We agreed for a half-plot in one of their estates at circa 900k. Payment plan was spread across 4 years and was quite convenient for me at the time. We even went to inspect the place and i was supposed to begin payments the following month. The following month, Army invited me for screening, and it became an excuse for me to terminate the land payment plan, thinking i would be unable to make the payments from training if i was successful. The Army thing didnt even work out so i focused on travelling out - another excuse. The Adron marketer got tired of contacting me and that was how the plan died. August this year will make it exactly 4 years, and we still dey Naja. I would have completed the payment if i went with the plan then. Someone made mention of a plot of land in Shimawa selling for 6m per plot. When i saw the post, i began to have one kind headache. Investments mean different things for different people, but they all have a similar undertone - long term. And there is no excuse for not starting because the long term will eventually come some day.
