I have no time for round and round argument. It depends on what you value. I value World Cup performance above anything else.

And wait let Rorh win the AFCON first at least.

And then I decide to define it by points gathered and lost in the FIFA rankings. tongue

While academic brilliance doesn't mean seyi olofinjana will be a good coach. However how he was able to combine chemical engineering at lautech and playing for crown fc then still surprises me. That tells me he must be super disciplined, knows how to prioritize, extremely brilliant, intelligent and very strategic. Also he went further and still combined professional football in Europe with obtainine a masters at the same time!!! That guy's brain must be on overdrive honestly.
Well said.Seyi na real butty boy and highly discipline, then i was in university of Ilorin while he was in Lautech Ogbomosho and still playing for Kwara United and member of Nigeria world university team to Italy alongside another good friends like ex Polish international Emma Olisadebe who was also a student of University of Ilorin and my buddies Dayo Ajoge who made his Nigeria debut against Jamaica and Yemi Akinyanju.

Honestly it is not easy for any science student talk less of Chemical Engineering student playing in NPFL. Emma Olisadebe couldn't make it as a computer science student, though Emma talent was extra ordinary and to me then he doesn't need university degree.

Hope to see revival of University games cos talents abound in those days.

you really didn't get my point. I'm not saying Victor is too big for arsenal. What I'm implying is that Arsenal are rebuilding. Many players will be sold/released and some will be bought. This , I think can't give victor the atmosphere to properly settle in. You sef see how dem dey drag Pepe na .

Forget pepe dragging, who go come good go come good jare

I would have said arsenal will be a good move, but with aubameyang still there, then he will be benched.

Balo got a good point. However, although drastic but the idea should be harkened unto.

If they invest massively to develop the game at a fast rate, the stadia is the most important for me. You can hardly play insane brilliant football on poor pitches. If they equip the coaches tactically and invest heavily in coaching and player development of brilliant tactical play. We can have a footballing and economic revolution in Africa.

Either way, it is to start small. Balo should finish his career and become a footballing entrepreneur in Africa. When others see his success, they will join in.

I STAND WITH BALOTELLI.

I am a tad Pan-African so I'd be pitching my tent with Balotelli on this one.

Sheffield United are exactly where I thought Newcastle or even Norwich would be. Too bad for Norwich, their style of play is not for a small side.

Newcastle kwa, I expected to be lower than they are with the appointment of Steve Bruce

Alongside The EPL's return set for June 17. The Serie A also returns JUNE 20.

Today is such a swell day. Hahahaha

Note: Italian football will return with coppa Italia semifinals on June 13 before the league return on the 20th.
And as known already, La liga returns JUNE 11-12.

lol. Who should invest? The ones that will tell you:

"I have an African dad, some of my relatives are African, but I feel more European. I don't really know much of Africa outside what I see on the internet, Europe is my home. I appreciate the offer though"

My guy, banish that idea.

Interesting. So we are now arguing about the 'Africanness' of who invests in Africa. Okay let our 'homegrown' do it na. The discrimination is real.

I was not arguing anyone's Africanness, I was making jokes, first of all. I apologise if the humor was lost on you, taking offense seems to be a new thing here.

You advised me to stop explaining, so, I won't explain. Take it as you wish.

Why banish the idea?

Must it be only foreign borns? Mane is doing a lot for his community when it comes to investing. Ighalo is doing some crazy investments into the lives of the locals in his community.

If guys like this can channel their investments into running an empowering, football education scheme, they can make mad money from it. Thus, turning the opportunity into a lucrative deal.

Buying a club for instance, building a top quality stadium with good pitch, lighting and Fast drainage and promoting the team with good TV airing can bring great returns to the investor.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:34pm On May 28, 2020
A success in such a scheme can also open the way for the foreign borns who want to contribute one way or the other.

I always believed football has the power to transform Nigeria. Glad Balotelli is looking at it as an African team.

From education, early orientation, employment and economic growth. A fast rising local football can achieve this.

The intentions are alwayslovely, but you have to consider the environment for it.

In Nigeria, for instance, how conducive is the environment for such investments? What are the assurances that someone higher up won't shortchange you? Can you really trust an organisation like the NFF, or State Associations, that are headed by sycophants and retired political thugs, to safeguard your investment?

What are the chances you won't be sabotaged by the system, if you try to invest in it? And really, there is only so much money you can put into an investment, before you're frustrated out of it. Have we wondered about Kanu's Pepsi Academy and the challenges he faced with them, if any?

See ehn, the ideas are noble enough, but whether it is actual African footballers, or Diasporan Africans or even full on white people, that want to put money, you cannot in good faith, advise anyone to invest their money and knowledge in a broken system.

You want people that do not know their way around a place to set the pace?

Like you want Adarabioyo, Billing to come to Nigeria and start investing in Football?

The homegrowns have a bigger chance of doing this due to their affinity. For instance, Finidi George who is a Sharks Boy, a fan of Sharks when he was young, grew up to play for the club understands why we must correct the idea of dismantling such a footballing household name.

Finidi could invest in reviving the club and boosting it. It is only after that you can garner the interest of the foreigners.

It has to be people that are very familiar with the challenges and willing to work through them, not the Oliseh types, that will assume the world is out to get them.

Familiarity is a necessary part of investment. You cannot invest into a market you aren't familiar with.

There is what is called risk management and solutions around it. Heck, we have private folks running clubs in Nigeria and to an extent doing well.

To even go back a bit, I remember Bright Stars Football Club, a club that focused a lot on young players. It was like an academy but got chances to play some big clubs.

I remember their under 17 team ripping the then U17 National team, 4-0 at Calabar and raised some quality players like Akpan Bassey and Kelechi Osunwa.

If our local players have the zeal, they will find a way. Private investments are not much sabotaged as compared to those with public attachments.

We need local players looking into the possibility of using the local scene as an investment opportunity.

Oruma lost two billion naira in a ghost oil deal. Imagine if he invested some into setting up a footie club, it would have gone a long way to benefit him.

So if they want to come tomorrow, you say wait first let our homegrown do it first? I don't get the logic. It's not a question of who can do it better now, or who understands the situation better. It is the turn by turn method you are trying to employ.
