I’ve always wondered why Anambra, Abia, Imo and Enugu don’t leverage properly on the huge real-estate and property boom in their states to increase their IGR!

I reckon Anambra alone can raise an extra 1 billion naira a month if they think outside the box like you’ve suggested and enumerate all properties (in the villas, towns and cities) for the purposes of property tax! Also, i doubt they’re collecting the right amount of tenement rates as well.

No one is suggesting Anambrans should be overtaxed....just collect the barest minimum, and plug all the loopholes through which a large percentage of tax due is pocketed by private individuals! I think this is where Enugu has improved over other south-east states. Enugu seems to have improved on its systems and procedures for collecting IGR, and this has reflected in the increase they’ve recorded when compared with their 2018 receipts.

I’m particular about Anambra, because i know the huge potential it has, coupled with the fact the Governor has been making pronouncements on increasing the states internally generated revenue! Imo and Abia...their own wahala is just too much for me to analyse tonight!

36km road which joins Umuikea to Obikabia junction completed. The road leads from Owerrinta (in Isialangwa south L.G.A) to Obikabia junction ( Obingwa L.G.A.) Drivers from IMO can ply the road from Owerrinta to Ikot-ekpene road without entering/passing through Aba.

Don't make the non-performance of Okezie an Ngwa issue. It is not! Ngwa people are generally highly efficient and smart. I am not an Abia man, but i can tell you that the neglect of Aba will adversely prevent Aba state from developing. Infact, the reason i had supported Okezie was because i hoped that a Ngwa man as Governor of Abia state will stop the decline and rot of Aba.

Aba was and potentially is still the greatest city in southern Nigeria if it's potentials were harnessed. Due to it's industries and generally more decent housing neighborhoods, many people in the 1980 and 1990s stayed in ba while they worked in PH. Today, the reverse is the case.

Let us openly get the leaders of Aba state to understand that the greatness of Abia is in ABA and not in Umuahia! I am not saying Umuahia isn't important. But in terms of what will help Abia become a mega force in Nigeria, it is Aba and NOT umuahia. Sadly, Abia state has more than concentrated the few development EXCLUSIVELY in Umuahia and abandoned ABA. There is media promotion of Umahi work while no one is interested in promoting Okezie work. The young man is trying. Aba and Umuahia are swallowing his works. Umahi work is concentrated on small Abakiliki town and a less town of Afikpo. Abakiliki is not up to the size of Umuahia. But Okezie is working in a 6lga of Aba, Umuahia, Ohaofia, Abiriba and Arochukwu. When he's working in Obingwa LGA those in Osisioma or Ugwunagbor will not know.Everybody is seeing Aba as the worst city in Nigeria due to media blackmail whereas Aba is one of the best. Travel and see. No commercial city in Nigeria is better than Aba. Aba is far better than most capital cities in southwestern and North central part of Nigeria. Travel to cities like Okene, ife, Abeokuta, Osogbo, Ogbomosho, general area of Ajegunke Lagos, owo, and rest of them and see for yourself. No road, no proper planning, people are building on top of stones and hills with poor architecture.Aba has at least 85% past mark on town planning and good and decent houses. Aba roads are not bad and dirty as being portrayed on social media. And you hardly see ghetto in Aba as seen in most Nigerian city outside southeast. Aba till tomorrow still remain the pride of Igbo land.

Abia state has the most efficient propaganda machinery. You need to go on Facebook to see how these guys are working. Once you post current pictures of Aba they will start insulting you, claiming it's old, but they will never post their own picture because they all know the truth.

While there's a sort of Abiaphobia where so many people really want to pull Abia and Aba in particular down due to its commercial and local industrial prowess. They don't want to see or hear anything good coming from Aba and southeast in general. The name and stories of Aba local industrial prowess gives them nightmare. I have observed it when I was living in Lagos and even now I'm living in the north.Aba glory is not lost in any matter, the problem of Aba is not the past governors as portrayed here (because even Orji Uzor kalu tried during his regime) but Nigerian factor. Aba and Igbo politicians have been soliciting for the construction of another drainage system in Aba city from the federal government since I was small, long before they used 6billion naira and constructed new one in Ibadan in 2006. Without the new drainage system, roads constructed in Aba will not last because the city is now 5x of it's initial masterplan. This country needs to be restructure. Enugu, Owerri and Portharcourt are facing the same problem.
Why did they close the eastern corridors of Nigerian seaports allowing only Lagos to be operating?

Why is Owerri not given the full status of international airport?

Dude you don't need to convince me or anybody else of anything. Its something that T.A Orji, his son and Ikpeazu don't seem to understand. Reality is a very stubborn thing that an army of propagandists will eventually bow down to.

To continue their criminal enterprise with impunity they have invested in a vast propaganda machine that believe they can alter reality and pretend that Aba and Abia State is better than it is and deceive people. All while Abia sinks below Zamfara, and the worst Northern states in Nigeria.

Enugu leads in IGR because it also has the most basic infrastructure in the south East. If Aba had Enugu’s Road management and waste management it would be the leading place in the south East.

Great kudos to Governor Dave Nweze Umahi and the great leaders of Ebonyi state.

Abakaliki is totally poised to become the most modern city in Nigeria in a few years time. Following a similar developmental plan of Abuja, whereby you set out an area and purpose build it into a planned modern city. Not the usual third world chaotic crap of Nigerian cities. This is the boldness to recreate Abuja and i respect them for this!

This is exactly the development pattern that i expected for many years of my own state capital ~ Awka. Whereby a large area / virgin land in Agu Awka is surveyed and gradually developed with well paved roads and places for critical development infrastructure including stadium, residential areas, public parks, industrial areas etc are well marked out.

Instead of the current method of haphazard third world style development we see today. I am so happy for the great vision and determination of Ebonyi leaders to make Abakaliki only second to Abuja in modernity. All Abakaliki needs now are attracting more industries and building a small airport to easily connect it to major cities of Nigeria by air to facilitate movement of investors and top business executives.
