That's a natural animal instict, fight-or-flight. In humans we pray when faced with an acute crisis. The most chaotic countries and people in crisis are the most religious. Africa,India, Arabia etc. You will find religion diminishes with the good social wellbeing/education of any nation. If you want to end droughts stop cutting trees, you can pray all Sunday and Friday but the rains won't come. To make a long story short you can actually draw pararrels between religious piety and the lack of education.

Calculating Gross Domestic Product is a job for a statstician. You don't need a phd in economics to do that.

GDP goes beyond numbers. It's economics basically. Statistics is just the tool to arrive at it and you don't need a degree in statistics to do that.

GDP is calculated by National Statistical bodies. Yemi Kale has a third rate degree in Statistics from the University of Ethiopia. GDP is what is essentially called the National Accounts. It just like a census of economic activities.
